World AIDS Day

Dec 01, 2006 09:22

In observance of World AIDS Day today, I implore you all to please visit http://www.lighttounite.org/ if you haven't already. This years page is different from last in that you light the single candle there on the page.

For every candle lit, they will donate $1 to AIDS research.

Now they are going to donate a minimum of $100,000 but- if we can get more candles than that lit, think of all the extra money that will be donated. Think how easy it is to give. Just a few clicks of the mouse, and you've helped fund a worthy cause, without ever having to leave your chair. It was the first thing I did this morning and only took a matter of seconds.

Give it a try...

I also urge you to continue to educate yourselves and get tested. For those of you local- Kent County does free testing. There has been a ton of research and advancement since the epidemic broke out. However, we haven't advanced enough as we still do not have a cure and it is still very much an epidemic. It hasn't gone away nor will it until we make a serious change- mainly in the way we think.

(*steps down from soapbox*)

Thanks for your time guys!
