ive been trying to arrange my placement for con-ed next year for the last couple of weeks and so far all ive hit are dead ends - i thought i would try a religious based school this year so that i can gain the experience of what is like to teach in an environment different from the one i am used to....hahahaha! so we have a catholic school and a christian school in town, neither of which will take me - the catholic school won't take me even though i just want the experience because they see no point in me gaining the experience when i will never use it because catholic schools only hire people of catholic faith - and the christian school won't take me even though i am christian because i am not a practising christian, in order to even be considered i need to send in a cover letter telling them about myself as well as a pastoral reference - its rediculous - i could not believe today that i was actually turned down for a student teacher position because i donot share in their belief system, i couldnt belief that just like that i was relgiously discriminated against....so i'm gonna have to stick with the public education system and try the other 3 schools in town and see what happens tomorrow
also i get to register for my courses tomorrow morning - hopefully that will all go nice and smoothly, although it is trent were talking about here so it prolly won't...
