Yesterday my computer had a stroke. Luckily, I'm engaged to a man with a technical degree in computer fixing (or something along those lines, anyway). He re-installed my operating system, and for the time being, it seems we're good to go.

I have re-discovered the Dashboard client on my mac. Widgets are my friend! If you haven't expirienced it, I don't know how to explain it to you. You should use a mac. Right now I'm looking at NotePad, with a budget I just worked out with the help of an on-screen calculator, a really nice little calender, a digital representation of an analog clock, and a little skin of iTunes that tells me what I'm listening to. Oh, and of course a desktop client to allow me to update this here journal without a browser open. It even pulled my music off of my iTunes at the click of a mouse! Brilliant.

I've decided to pull things together here. I'm drinking a lot of water, and can't believe what a difference that alone makes. I lost 7 pounds in two weeks just from increased water intake. Andy and I are grocery shopping more, and making a real effort to cook. I cooked all my meals today! And we also went for a walk around the neighborhood, which I'd like to do daily but know I won't stick to it.

I'm in the mood for spring/summer cleaning. I attribute this to my unemployed ass watching too much Clean House on the Style network, but I guess it's a good thing. This time next month you won't be able to recognize our house, I hope.

Speaking of my unemployed ass, it's about to get a big kick of employment. I registered with a temping agency Wednesday before last, and they've found me quite a cushy assignment with a telecommunications company beginning the 11th. The company only recently expanded into St. Louis, and seem to be doing all temp-to-hire for this position, so there's a good chance it could go that way. W00t!

Tomorrow I start stage managing a play for the Tin Ceiling. I should have been cast, but life's not fair, and sometimes directors are misguided. I'm just glad that I can be involved in the production anyway, as at least 30% of the reason I quit my job at Star Clipper was to be more involved in the TC.

I have a lot more to say, but can only imagine how many of you I've already lost somewhere in this uncharacteristically long and characteristically meandering post. Maybe with my new-re-found love of Dashboard will come a new-re-found love of lj. Let's keep our fingers crossed, shall we?
