Chlark Fanfic: Crisis, Chapter 23

Sep 11, 2011 22:46

Hi everyone! :D

Some more Crisis, as promised.  Again, in response to a valid question raised from the previous chapter.

Enjoy!  And thanks so much for all your wonderful feedback.   As you can see, it makes the story richer, and longer. :)

What a great chapter! This story is really tough and interesting. The part where Clark describes what he's done to Chloe to his mother breaks my heart. Martha knows what happened but can't really picture it and listening to Clark talking about it, trying to make her understand he hurt Chloe like that, must be really hard.

Good work! :)

It must be the worst thing a mother can hear about her child. Tough and damn near impossible to write, I tell ya. :-/

Thanks for your comments, babes! Appreciate it. *hugs*

Reading the horror from Martha's perspective just re-enforces to me why she's TVs best and most love mother figure. :) I empathized with everything she experienced and said and love that she didn't back down from the fact that she had to and would share everything with Jonathan. Fantastically written chapter. I really hope the healing starts for them both soon. Perhaps the best thing is for Chloe would be to move with Gabe when he gets his new job...

Agreed. Unfortunately, Jonathan isn’t quite as diplomatic as Martha, so here’s hoping there’s some kind of breakthrough before he gets involved in this latest development. :-/

“Fantastically written chapter.”

Thanks, Kim! :-D

Ah, but that would be a cop-out...and I don’t do cop-outs. You’ll just have to wait and see how it all pans out. ;-)

Thank goodness for Martha! I love how she got to the core of the matter and pointed out that Chloe's behaviour wasn't helping her. Now hopefully the healing can begin.

Er...*hangs head*...still a teensy bit more angst and drama to go before we get to the crux of the matter and the healing part. But we're getting there. Promise! :-)

Oh, I don't expect Martha to wave a magic wand and make everything better right away. Chloe's been hurt too badly for that. But I'm hopeful now!

“Damn, I knew I should have bought stock in kleenex before reading any further chapters.”

Oh, dear. Between Kleenex and computer screen-melting insurance, I fear my fanfic updates costing you quite a few bob. :-)

“This was almost as traumatic as his acceptance that he might die in that elevator. That sentence and the tortured way he doesn't shy away from telling his mother the horrible details of 'raping' (vs. 'hurting') his best friend shows that he does understand exactly how devastating his crime against Chloe was.”

For her to go to the levels that she’s going to, he knows that she must be deeply scarred.

“But I so disagree with him: he has no clue what he's doing!

He may believe Chloe needs to torture him and abuse his trust. And even that his willingness to let her do her worst will help her. Also, just because she hasn't tried to hurt him in the last few days doesn't mean she's getting better!” It doesn’t. It’s a quick fix, to be sure, but all quick fixes ever do is satisfy the now and foster an addiction to the ( ... )

“So glad Martha is willing to jump in before this gets any more out of control. So good that she understands Clark's need to have his parents stand by him AND Chloe; and to do what's best for both of them; but mostly that she knows Chloe needs to get help and accepts that Clark will have to pay for his crime! But certainly not in a way that will damage Chloe more than she already is.”

And that, Ladies & Gents, is my dilemma. But I fully intend to sort it out in the best way that I can, for everyone. :-)

“Now, Jonathan, I'm fairly sure will be more difficult to convince. His first worry is always about Clark's secret being revealed to anyone, let alone the wrong people! I think it will take a lot more of Martha's wisdom to make him see what will truly be best for everyone to somehow move on from this.”

Which is why I hope to get this somewhat resolved before Jonathan gets involved!

“I was also impressed with Martha mentioning that Chloe's torture could unintentionally push Clark beyond the edge!” Interesting you should pick ( ... )
