A mess of pictures - Rider Pride!

Jan 18, 2011 19:07

Last week, some players from the Saskatchewan Roughriders came to our town to play a recreational hockey game against some of our local players.  They had a silent auction, banquet, and autographs as well.  My mom, being a devoted Rider fan, changed her plane ticket to delay her flight home by two days so that she could attend these events.   I know my mom has been waiting to see the pictures here, so while I wait for The Biggest Loser to start, I'll post them :-)

"chunk", signing autographs.

Autographs!  Charlotte is hiding behind her postcard ;-)

Local players chatting it up with the (Rider) competition

Weird to see a Rider jersey on a hockey player!

The little guy on the left is 7 years old and got to play with the Big Boys.  They were all careful to not run him over, and he even scored three goals!

Charlotte was happy to find Kim in the stands (she had joined us at the rink after her shift at work).

We were all there at the game, including my Aunt Viv.

They played a football relay race on the ice too - kind of strange...

When the Littles got bored and started making laps through the stands, dill pickle chips to the rescue!  Not sure what Kim is looking at, but my mom was sure having fun!

This 'oops' pictures is kind of cool - all blurry except for her face!

Fun in the stands.

At the banquet after the game, we sat right beside the head table with the players.  This player had brought his dog along on the road trip.  This big 'ol football player was a real softie with his dog and the kids.

My mom's favorite picture, I'm sure.

Can't remember the name of this player (I'm SO not a football fan), but Mom, can you see the glimmer of his Grey Cup ring....?

Played "this or that".  Question:  Boxers or briefs.  While one player checked (LOL), another player answered, "Depends."

A local press man interviewing a player over a beer (or two).

Players autographed some bottles of booze - maybe for the sponsors?

Some of Kim's friends (who were there, in part, to wash dishes for a grad fundraiser) did a 'cheer' with the Rider players.  They were really good sports.

My mom and Aunt had a really good time at the banquet.

And I can't forgot to include these pictures too, right mom?

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

The girls really enjoyed having "the grandmas" around and were sad to see them leave for home.

Tea party for Grandma Viv :-)
