aahhh, it feels good

While we were in the city yesterday, Jack dropped me off at Michael's craft store while he took the girls to a local wave pool.  I spent two hours there (and nearby stores), shopping all.by.myself.  Heavenly.  I was kind of disappointed with the scrapbook stuff at Michael's though.  They don't carry strap albums anymore, they have more printed paper than solid color paper, and a lot of their stickers are glittery or puffy (which I don't like to use in my scrapbooks).

For the past couple of weeks I've been sorting through the girls' school stuff, sorting digital pictures on my computer and I've finally been able to get caught up on some scrapbooking!  For each of the girls I have an "annual/school" album; I do a four page spread for every school year, including their class picture, school portrait, report cards, highlights from the year, awards, etc.  I also have their annual professional pictures right from birth, and highlights from each year. This week I finished Julia's grade one and two pages, and got started on her grade 3 pages.  I've started working on Kim's now; I have grades 9-11 to do!

In the back of the each "annual/school" album, I put annual pictures of each girl with her birthday cake, and Santa pictures (until they refuse to do it anymore ;-)  I printed the pictures of Julia with her birthday cakes from her last three birthdays as well as last year's Santa picture so those are all updated too!

I do a chronological album for each of the girls too (which I'm at least 3 years behind on), plus I want to get Charlotte's baby book done (I've barely started it!), and continue on Abby's memorial album.  Being able to scrapbook again after such a long time away from it, I've been reminded of how much I love to do it.  I can't sew, knit, crochet or cook amazing meals, so I enjoy this one creative outlet.

I'll take a break to make supper (scoop tacos!) and pick up Kim for her break, then back at it this evening :-)
