My maternal grandmother, known to us as "Granny Mac", was a seamstress, a photographer, and a British war bride.  She made wine, lamb with mint jelly, and daisy chain necklaces.  She took us to the beach, she knit, she went nude in her hot tub, grew beautiful roses, and sewed amazing hawaiian quilts.  When she was 70 years old, she held her first great-grandchild, my sister's first daughter.

Three months later, she died.  She never saw or held any more of her 11 great-grandchildren, but  I like to believe that she is holding Abby now, along with several of our family's unborn angel babies.  Yesterday, I received a package from my cousin Allison (who is a miracle, herself).  Inside the package was a pink knitted blanket and this note:

"Charlotte, We're so happy to have you as part of our family.  We're glad to hear you're doing so well.  I knit you a blanket with an old pair of Great Granny Mac's knitting needles.  We love you and hope to meet you soon."

I cried as I wrapped Charlotte in that blanket.  I could just imagine my Grandma knitting blankets for her great-grandbabies, and it was so sweet of my cousin to knit one for Charlotte.   {{{ Thank you Allison }}}

And some more Charlotte sweetness.....

Her morning nap just....couldn't....wait.

She chews her thumb all the time now, but gags when she sucks on it !

Charlotte is introduced to her bear, Cookie, for the first time :-)

{{{{{ Oooohhhhh, Cookie love }}}}}
