babycatching still
It's been a while! Life just seems to move along here with nothing much to report. Kids are doing well, Jack and I are doing well. The things that I would like to chat about are mostly work related and I can't write about it, due to privacy restrictions. So what can I say about work....
We're doing water births at our local hospital now! Very exciting for our clients who would like a water birth but didn't feel comfortable to have (or weren't appropriate for) a home birth.
We have a new midwife who has a temporary position (a mat leave) and she is lovely. My partner and I are really enjoying having her work with us and she seems quite happy too.
My clients are lovely and it's been a good year. As usual, I'm not looking forward to working through the winter; madly scraping windows and brushing off snow while the car warms up when I'm trying to rush to a birth, pulling cold equipment out of my bags, carrying meds, Doppler gel and IV fluids in my purse so they don't stay in my car and freeze. Fun times in a prairie winter.
I made a "baby name tree" at the clinic and it's filling up nicely with paper apples in the branches and pumpkins on the ground. Snowflakes and Christmas ornaments are next, for the winter season. It makes me smile just to see all those baby names on the tree :-)
As tough as my work can be sometimes, I sure do love it.
