Oh, Livejournal, I think of you often but never seem to get here and log in.
Summer is going by. I love to see everything in full bloom and foliage, love the summer breeze and being able to dash out the door without socks, winter coat, and snow brush in hand.
We've started to replace our short chain link fence with a more formidable 6' wood fence. Posts are in, looking tall and proud but a bit awkward without fence rails and boards. Soon.
Our dear new dog is a real sweetheart but has abandonment issues and doesn't like her people to leave her home alone. She noshes in the litter box, and will get into any kind of people food that's left in her reach (including the small Ziploc bags of mixed nuts and fruit that I normally have in my purse for work snacks, but left on top of the 4.5' cabinet in our living room o-O) We've come up with a creative solution for the litter box buffet, and there's a giant, shiny new dog cage in our livingroom.
Work is same, same. Busy, fun, stressful. Babies, bellies, body fluids, paperworkpaperworkpaperwork.
Julia goes to camp for a week next month and it'll be a week off for me to spend with Charlotte, do back to school shopping (noooooo!!) and hopefully find some sand to dig my toes in.
We've had a few days of peace with Julia and The Boyfriend. He's been spending more time at our house which is good. He's a nice kid, just your typical 15 year old boy. We feed him, take him with us to the dog park, the movies, and he's able to spend some (supervised) time with our daughter.
Now to prepare for the week to come, finish some laundry and do some meal planning. I've had zero interest in cooking for a while but last week I forced myself to plan and cook and it was really good. The pesto chicken thighs were sooo yummy.
