It's good to be home, nice to be surrounded by my people, cook in my own kitchen, fall asleep in my cozy bed with Jack's arms around me. I could just stay there forever. He had two days off work when I got home and it was wonderful to have just hang out and spend time together.
The day after I got home Jack was in the kitchen for something and commented, "It's nice to have the dish fairy back again." I know what a relief it is when my tag team partner is back in the ring, and he obviously feels the same. When he looked in the (empty) cookie jar that night I teased him and said, "What, did you think the cookie fairy was back too?" Ah well, I baked cookies and filled the cookie jar today instead.
I've spent time cleaning the icky dish rack, cleaning off my desk and sorting papers, stocking the fridge, clearing away clutter. Jack is good at doing the things that need to be done to survive while I'm gone but clutter is collecting here and there. Good thing I like to clear out clutter and organize things - we make a good team. I packed away the summer sandals and hats, filled the girls' cubbies at the front door with mitts and hats, made room for snowy boots, figured out what the girls will wear for Halloween and picked up treats to hand out to the trick or treaters.
I haven't touched my school stuff yet. I need to get on that, but I'm just resisting it - don't want school to take up any of my home-time.
And I don't think I mentioned that I applied for a bursary through Ryerson and found out the other day that the funds had been deposited to my school account, a nice chunk of change that will pay for my clerkship tuition so that's great! I'll receive a bursary from my future employer too but not until I get my first paycheque this summer? The bursaries will certainly take the edge off the debit I'm accumulating this year anyway.
