With Kim and Wyatt on the road home, the Littles asleep in bed and the hockey game on 'mute', we've been enjoying a good visit with my mom. We've been all going in different directions and it's nice to finally sit down and visit.
My mom has been in correspondence with the 'gunner' that flew with my grandpa in WWII. She read us several of his letters as he talked about his experiences with my Grandpa (his pilot). He was at my grandparent's wedding in England too!
As my mom had been talking about these things it got me thinking about how important and precious a family's history is. There's so much more I wish I knew about my other grandparents, or even my dad but it's too late now. My mom is the last 'Grandma' my kids have now and I want her to be around for a good long time yet, I want my littlest kids to have lots of good memories of their Grandma. My BIL wants to sit my mom down and videotape her while they chat about these snippets of family history and I hope they actually do it, because that would priceless.
