It was a busy day with back-to-back appointments that sometimes overlapped, and all of us going in different directions. Even at work I had one foot in home court, texting Jack directions to paperwork he needed, juggling my schedule with Jack's, making doctor's appointments, calling for information about registration for kids' Spring and Summer activities, etc.
7:30 First to work. Jack home with Charlotte, Getting Things Done.
3:45 Leave work early to go get my hair cut at 4 o'clock.
4:00 Jack drops me off, then takes Charlotte to Julia's parent teacher interview.
4:25 Jack and Charlotte pick me up, head straight home.
4:30 Friend pulls up in her truck behind our van at our house to drop off her baby for me to look after
5:00 Once baby has stopped crying and clinging to me, get supper started.
5:30 spoon vegetable soup into baby's mouth as he holds a piece of grilled cheese in each hand. Eat my own sandwich.
(it was quite the menagerie around our supper table; two parents, two children, one of Julia's friends, a grandparent, and someone else's baby ;-)
6:00 finish writing cheques and filling out sport registration forms for Julia while Jack and children entertain baby
6:30 Jack takes forms to registration, waits in line to submit Julia's forms
6:45 change poopy diaper, swiffer up trail of crumbs behind baby
7:00 Jack leaves asap to make it to his 7 o'clock meeting. My friend arrives to pick up her tired but happy baby. Julia walks her friend home.
7:15 get Charlotte into the tub. Stretch out on my bed with
my book for a few minutes until Charlotte's toes were good and wrinkly. Scrub and rinse off littlest one then....
Feet up. iPod. Coke zero. Oh yeah, baby.
