The "pause" week; the week between Christmas and New Year's when the novelty of new Things hasn't worn off, there are still Christmas lights and treats to enjoy, and we can take a load of recycling to the depot.
We had Jack's sister and her family here for a traditional turkey meal yesterday afternoon. We ate early in the afternoon (to accommodate my nephew's visitation schedule with his daughter) and it was so nice to have the rest of the day and evening to just quietly relax.
We're enjoying the turkey leftovers, the boxes of chocolates are slowly emptying, the Littles are still bouncing from one new toy/activity to another, and Kim has almost read an entire book that she got for Christmas. Today is Jack's last day off and I'm glad to be able to spend the day with him, even if we are just snuggling on the couch with a book and the tv remote. I might set up my Cricut tonight or tomorrow.
I've been going through all of my 2011 pictures on my computer, choosing pictures to print for all 4 girls' scrapbooks. Abby, Charlotte, and Julia are done now, and I'm half done the year for Kim. Next step is to edit the amount of pictures then print them. Even though I'm 4 years behind it makes me feel less crazy about it just knowing I at least have the pictures printed.
I spent the morning going through our December finances and getting our account book ready for next year. I also need to go through our 2011 family calendar and add important dates to the new 2012 calendar. 2012.....it's crazy that we're already more than a decade into the 21st century!
I like looking forward to a new year!
