remember the weird place we told you about last night? turned out to be an amazing show!! there were tons of people, the bands we played with were really good, there were good vibes and good times to be had by all!! we made some new friends, too. very very good night.

we met this band from Jersey and had a good conversation with one of them (his name was Jack) about shows and scenes and hardcore and punk. About how hardcore and all its subgenres are the new punkrock, in the sense that the bands (not all of them of course) aren't trying to be mainstream or get huge, and about how the crowds come out to get out their aggression and go nuts and about how it's such a huge scene right now. any touring band that's out there right now knows about this. hardcore is more of an underground community and people really come out to support. it was an interesting conversation, but we certainly weren't complaining. we've had a really great sense of community and friendship on all our tours and we are the farthest thing from harddcore out there. we've also played with lots of hardcore, grindcore, screamo, etc bands and had an awesome time with them! we usually become buds and enjoy each other. it's been great.

we're in Memphis right now in a small bar. "Georgia on My Mind" is playing in the backround. it's dark and smoky in here, the walls are of wood and brick, real moody and warm. kind of nice. the band we're playing with has got about a million people and instruments in it and we're excited to see this. oh and it's raining outside so it adds to the whole southern ambience going on tonight. oooh and we're playing in front of a brick wall with a fireplace in it.
when we first got here, there was an older blues singer and guitar player sitting in front of the fireplace. we watched him for a while and he talked to us for a bit, it was nice.
