there was a hurricane, everything got jacked up, NOTHING was open for days, lots of people had no water or ice, nobody had electricity at first, a day or 2 later about 10% of miami dade country had power and it raised by percentiles each day after. still lots of people have no power. there were (at least) 1-4 hour long lines for gas, everyone was going nuts, phone lines and cellular phones, land lines, internet- all a thing of nonexistance for a while there and that's still so for many, things were in a state of general weirdnes and still somewhat are....

oh and there's a curfew, 8pm weekdays midnight for the weekend, get arrrested=$500 fine, up to 180 days in prison supposedly (lots of people are ignoring it and not getting arrested but lots of people have gotten arrested)....

We found out Friday afternoon that the Halloween Plaid was still going on. Most people assumed there would be no show since most of Miami Dade is still without power and many are without water, ice, or gas- and because of the curfew. But since the show was on, we were damn sure gunna play it. When we got there, it was only us and half of Objects in Transit. The Brand showed up shortly and we saw members of The Remnants walking around. No one could get in touch with Humbert or most of the other bands, even the touring folks were nowhere to be found. Most likely they stayed clear of our area, a smart idea. The Churchill's crew and The Brand worked together to make that show happen, running the place on a huge generator that took a while to get started and using the brands equipment as a backline. We had a fun time and had to leave earlier than we wanted to because of ride situations. Everyone had a good time though and we're glad it happened!

could it be that it's not what we get but instead what we need to be constantly asking for...
