Yes, it's been awhile since I've updated with the ongoing story of my life. Quite a bit has happened since the last entry into this little thing.
Prolly the mosty significant thing is that I started my new job on June 1. I'm a Web Content Administrator for National Planning Corporation. The company is a middleman or something in selling financial, um, options I guess you would call them. I honest to god don't quite understand the company or financial things for that matter. I was in a seminar the second day about what the company does, and the guy running the seminar practically groaned when I asked what a mutual fund was. Hey, I don't know. It's all foreign to me. I know how to do my job and that's all that really matters. I wasn't sure if I would even like this job, but it's turning out better than I thought. I like the people I work with and I get lost in code all day. Fun times with JSPs (JavaServerPages if you didn't know). JSPs are a type of HTML page where you can basically pull in a bunch of outside pages onto one page. It's a lot easier when you're trying to make one change to a bunch of pages. Like, if I had a navigation bar that would be the same on each page, I can put that in a JSP then have it included on each page that needs that nav. So instead of changing every page, you only have to change one page and the change will show up on the rest of the site. Yeah, I think I lost everyone. Anyway, that's what I work with because all of their sites are JSP based. Fun times. The people there are around my age too. There are 11 of us in my department, 3 of them are 23, two of them are 28, one is 30, and one is 41, and I don't know how old my boss is. So that gives you an average about how old the people in my area are. It's laid back and we have fun while we're working, which is important. I'm on the 11th floor of my building and we have a view of the ocean and all of Santa Monica. It's pretty sweet.
In other news, I finally got my cats. I got a boy and a girl, and they're from the same litter. I figured that way they know each other already and know that they can get along. The girl is a gray tabby and I named her Fiona because I thought it was a cute name for a female cat. And it sounds like Fiona from Shrek. lol. She definitely has the attitude. The other cat is a tuxedo cat (black and white) named Rocky. I named him Rocky cuz his paws are white like he's wearing little gloves, like Rocky from the boxing movie. It fits well. They're 8 weeks old, so they're still little babies. They like to roll around and wrestle with each other and chase each other's tails. They're so adorable. I was so excited to get them too because I'd been waiting so long. I feel like I have a couple little kids cuz I constantly have to make sure they don't eat my plants or fall behind the shelves or climb up the screen door or scratch the carpet. Crazy little buggers. Oh yeah, and they were totally watching TV this afternoon when I got home from work. I turned on Seinfeld and they both sat there staring at the TV. So cute.
Other than those two things, I've just been hanging out. I drove down to Mission Viejo to see Lords of Dogtown on sunday with rob. I wasn't real sure how the movie would be, but it was pretty good. I'd seen the posters around Sony for the last few months, and I'd seen the commercials on tv. I really liked the opening titles for the film. They were done like they had been spray painted on the screen. I could have done without the sound effects, but it was a pretty cool way to do the titles. Especially how after they were painted, the paint would sorta drip down. It was really cool. It was an interesting movie too, because it's about the roots of skateboarding as we know it today. Sunday was fun. It was the only day that I got to go out this last weekend, cuz I got the cats on saturday. Oh yeah, I went to my supervisor's birthday party too. Megan and I were the only non-asians there, but it was cool. It was a fun group of people. It was nice of Jae to invite me.
This weekend my parents are coming down to bring my double bed. I just bought a new comforter for it because I'm tired of the whole "tropical" thing I've had going on for the last 4 years. I got this kick ass comforter with embroidered flowers on it for half price. It was like $250 and I got it for $125, then I had a coupon for 20% off. It's pretty sweet. I love saving money. It's maroon with lavender flowers embroidered on it, with a kind of see through ribbon trim. It's really pretty, and more "adult". I wanted something that was more adult and less, well, crazy and wild. I was gonna get an orange comforter, but then I thought this one was way too good of a deal to pass up. So yeah, I'm excited about that.
They got gyros at work today. I was jealous. I want gyros. They're soo yummy. And souvlaki too. I crave greek food now. It's all Greece's fault. Although, you could get a gyro in Greece for like, 5 € and here the place wanted $7. Rip off. Pssh. Oh well, it's so worth it for a gyro.

And everyone and you and yours and mine
I waited for a thousand years
For you to come and blow me off my mind
