Korean foooood!
I skipped lunch today because I was seriously NOT hungry (plus I had a dan bin on the way to lab).. so by around 5:30 I was STARVING. Got back to the dorms around 6:46 or so, I think? because I left lab around 6.. was going to stay until my mentor (Zhao Rui) was done with plasmid extraction (after using bacteria to clone the vectors he wanted), but I was too hungry to wait until the end, which would've taken about 30 more minutes.
So I got over to the bus stop ASAP, hopped on the first bus I found that'd take me where I wanted to go (331, 386, 498, 562 are the ones from the Health Sciences campus to the dorms, I think... I was trying to memorize them all today, lol, so I didn't have to check the signs every time). Bus ride took about 36 minutes or so, walk from bus stop back to dorm took about 10 minutes, then chilled for 15-20 minutes while we got our stuff ready to head over to campus to eat. Katherine (my roommate) had found some info on some campus eateries, one of which was a Korean restaurant, so we decided to check it out. Looked up what we thought was the building (Shao Yuan #2) on the campus map we got, head over there, and were encountered by an old, 100% residential in appearance building ... first thought: crap, wrong place?
We head inside to take a look, and sure enough there's a restaurant at the back of the building on the first floor.. huge place too, but it looked closed both based on appearance & on the schedule posted on the floor-to-ceiling windows.. THEN we noticed this little notice in the top left corner of the windows saying, <--- Korean Restaurant. Went over to check out the menu, which looked decent.. I didn't even have to look to know what I wanted though -- bimbimbap =D
Drew (a guy from the same program) text asking if we'd head out for food yet, and ended up meeting up with us at Shao Yuan .. after getting horribly lost based on my not having a clue where he was & his not having a clue what I meant by "straight behind the library" (which was where the building was located). Everything went fine though, and food was great and decently priced.. hadn't had bimbimbap in a long time, too, so I'm happy =D
On the way back out, I saved a frog/toad from near death haha.. hopefully it didn't hop back out on the road and get squished T_T
Now I'm bored and not really focusing too well, but I gotta finish editing some review comments on a manuscript that's up for peer review.. then edit another manuscript that was sent to me.. -sigh- NEED TO BE LESS ADD! X__X
