New year's will bring...

this new year's eve: dinner with my family and two of my favorite people in the world [hannah and brian]. lying in the street at midnight, blankets and two girls I love to death, stars and clouds and tiny fireworks; the distant commotion exploding on the silence of night. Frosty breath against the sky when we laughed. Just listening. It was wonderful. although strange not being with Em and Kristen. This year is ushered in with bittersweet comfort; the prospect of change, and the necessity of letting go. I'm getting used to missing the ones who knew everything. Still, so thankful for what is left, and for the new blessings (one especially..). Hmm...so, I wasted the entire day today, and then did this:

   ok,this one's a bit broad, heh. Really it's anyone who truly has a passion for music (not into it because it makes you look cool. and some talent is neccessary..sorry.)

   the lyrics- all direct scripture quotes. its history- Handel's brilliant mind, so burdened by the world and his own darkness, and then so enlightened and inspired by God Himself. memories of being nine and going with my mom to the BSO-captivated by the massive glowing room where soundwaves float perfectly, and of throwing my program-airplane off of the great balcony.
5. journaling:
   is more effective than any therapist. I've got books upon tiny-handwritten-thought-filled books to prove that.
6. oswald chambers:
   'My Utmost for His Highest'- read it and find out for yourself.
7. prayer:
   a conversation with the One in whom my soul finds rest
8. romance:
   because I'm too much of a dreamer..
9. snail mail:
   because it's usually from one of my favorite people, because handwriting is much more interesting than typed letters on a computer screen...because thinking of the distance it's come is exciting..and who doesn't like going through the mailbox and finding a hand sealed envelope with their name on it?
10. the bible:
    the Word of life; the deepest truth any of us will ever know.
