Genetos is every bit as fantastic as I was expecting it to be. The fifth stage is amazing.
For people who haven't been paying attention, Genetos was a game I showcased a while back in an unfinished state- the final level wasn't there. The game takes you on a journey through the generations of shooters- you start in Space Invaders and end up in danmaku. As the game evolves, so do you, and each generation brings new abilities.
New to the final version is the ability to evolve different weapons systems based on how you play. If you spend a lot of time at the top of the screen for example your weapon becomes short-ranged but very powerful. If you get hit a lot, you evolve the ability to slow bullets down, and so on.
The game isn't greatly difficult to any degree but it is a fine experience and definitely worthwhile playing even if shooters aren't your thing.
