"I'm not even supposed to be here today!"

I'm so tired. (cue Chris Rock...) Tired, tired, tired, tired, tired. We're really bogged down at work, so it's been nonstop captioning all week.

I realized some time last night that Tuesday was my one-year anniversary on this job. Whoo hoo! At least I got to spend it captioning a show I like, America's Next Top Model. (OMG, Miss J & Tyra's gospel revue nearly killed me.) But other than ANTM & DH, work has been hell. I'm crossing my fingers that there's very little Cami's in the next Laguna Beach.

Okay, you know what sucks? Almost having a panic attack because there's a black cat sitting on your doorstep at 2:45 a.m. It got scary when said cat -- who turned out to have a white belly -- meowed loudly & approached me at full speed.

Wait, you know what sucks more than that? Working an unplanned extra hour of overtime because the digitizer was getting tweaked & you couldn't do shit until 11:30 p.m.

Oh, but here's the suckiest thing that ever did suck: getting a tape delivered as you are literally walking out the building's front door at 1:15 a.m., then staying at work until 1:30. [Note: my shift ends at midnight.] And it wasn't even a show I like; it was "What About Brian," which is too cool to tote around a question mark. Somehow, this is all JJ Abrams' fault.

Dude, Omar G's "Zod" recap is hilarious. It's no "Devoted," but it's good. I love his take on Clark humping Zod/Lex in mid-air: "The two spin further, like a spiraling homo football. And they're both going to make it to the endzone. "

I'm behind on my TV viewing, so more on my shows another day. But I did watch SPN, featuring bliss_'s nightmare realized.

* Clowns are fucking creepy. I thnk it's the combo of exaggerated makeup & grins. Oh, and all that evil hidden under ill-fitting & clashing pants.

* It took me a few seconds to realize what was on fire. I wonder if they followed tradition & had Dean light the pyre.

* Sam & Dean fighting about the aftermath of Papa's death hit really close to home. Like, so close I'd think someone listened to our phone calls. Well, at least it didn't air on an anniversary like SV's "Reckoning."

* Holy crap, when did Ben Edlund join the SPN team?! He wrote the best Angel ep ever, "Smile Time"! I pray this means there's a demon-attacking-male-strippers ep in the future. I'd settle for a brotherly pillowfight.

* Captain & Tennille & the minivan! Sam's clown phobia! Sibling fighting! Sorry, I like the angst.

* Jared's accent it slipping badly. Also, CUT THAT BOY'S HAIR!!!

* This ep reminded me of Knott's Berry Farm's kick-ass & truly scary Halloween Haunt. They used to have a clown maze in a funhouse, but it scared the crap out of everyone so they changed the theme. Man, I really wanna go this year.

* Oh, John Shiban, we get it: Dean misspeaks, Sam is really tall, and you worked on The X-Files. Nice job with this ep, but you didn't need to rip off pay homage to one of my fave TXF's ever, "Humbug."

* I am disappointed that Ellen's House of Demon Destroyers isn't in Sacramento. Seriously, Kripke, you promised me! And your promise to a nameless fangirl is as good as a promise from the Bush administration!

* For some reason, watching VM's St. Meg flirt with Dean kind of creeped me out. Maybe it because Alona Tal looks barely legal compared to Jensen.

* So I meant to post this ealier... during my SPN S1 rewatch, I noticed that Mama Winchester, Jess and Random Mom all bent their left leg out when Ceiling Demon got them. What's the significance of the pose?

And now for some totally unconnected songs...

Snow Patrol, "Chasing Cars"
Depeche Mode, "Never Let Me Down" -- I heard these songs back-to-back the other night and thought, "Man, those are both good songs to make out to." Yeah, no idea where that came from. I know "Chasing Cars" is on the radio every 8.3 minutes, but it's pretty so it's okay. What's not okay is hearing "Sympathy for the Devil" every 8.3 minutes on just two stations. Seriously, DJs, there are other Stones songs.

AC/DC, "Highway to Hell" -- I was pouting on the drive home, and then this song came on and made me smile. Yeah, the week's been that sucky.

Andrew returns on this Sunday's Desperate Housewives! YAY! Oh, and John the Gardner is back. Meh. Overall, it's a good ep, though the one after that is hilarious.

Time to get ready to work OT on my day off. Gah, the money better be worth the loss in sleep.

work is hell, free stuff!, supernatural, music
