That Big Brother HoH competition? Fucking awesome. The winner? Fucking sucks. But what was with the super-maudlin music they played during the "OMG, Howie, you're gonna eat yourself to death" segment?
Everyone's seen the CW's promo "Free to be..." posters with the show-related taglines, right? For instance, Gilmore Girls is "Girlie," Supernatural is "Scary," Top Model is "Fierce," VMars is "Brave" or something like that, and Everybody Hates Chris is "Funny."
I had not seen one for Smallville until late last week. I figured the tagline would be "Super," because it's not the CW without an anvil present. Dude, it didn't disappoint.
I get to drive past a billboard with Tom Welling's face on it every day. Seriously, he's like the prettiest man ever, and the picture is huge! Traffic even slows down on the 710 so people can get a good look. But they're likely noticing his pose more than his hotness: Tom's in profile, head tilted up, mouth slightly open & fake smiling, like a rentboy posing Sears catalog-style. Poor Tommy.
bliss_, I'm all ready for that GG S2 & 3 rewatch. I can only watch two (three at most) eps a night, so I got a head start over the weekend :) I'll get midway through ep 205 before work. CuteDean rules!!!
badtyler, they're repeating Amy Sedaris' Letterman appearance tomorrow night. Yes, Dave and Amy, together again!
* The new tennant parked next to me has a license plate ending in "666." I thought three consecutive 6's were banned from license plates, like consecutive three K's?
* My ring fell off while I was drying my hands, and I had to dig it out of the trash.
* The office building is weird and it's starting to freak me out. I went to the bathroom at 10:30 and the new hallway lights were on. I came out a few minutes later, and they were all out except for the one by our door. I swear, I'm one tricycle and an elevator full of blood away from having an Overlook Hotel moment.

AC/DC, "Highway to Hell" -- Llike I need an excuse to listen to AC/DC. I don't know if it's the full moon or pre-bday wonkiness or the fact that my Giants finally stopped their losing streak, but something is definitely off this week. The best weapon to combat all this is some AC/DC.
Fleetwood Mac, "Go Your Own Way"
Fleetwood Mac, "Gold Dust Woman" -- My favorite Fleetwood Mac songs are the ones where Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham attack one another. (Lone exception: "Landslide.") "Go Your Own Way" and "GDW" are equally mean and cathartic. Breaking up never felt so good. I love the lyrics for both songs.
Does anyone have Hole's cover of "GDW"?
