First things first, a belated Happy Canada Day and early 4th of July to all!
Who wants a postcard from Toronto and/or San Diego? E-mail me (it's in my user info) your address & I'll try to send them before I return home :)
Question for Canadians: for the first part of the trip, we're staying downtown (on Bay or King, I think). Any recs of a bank/ATM with a good exchange rate?
Ugh, so many things to do before I leave for Toronto and it's getting down to the wire and crap, I'm working tomorrow. I've already starting my usual pre-trip freak out: OMG, I haven't seen Best Friend since April and I haven't flown out of the country since high school and what if I get stuck next to a weirdo on the plane and what if I forget something important? Thank god Mom took care of the birth certificate thing or I'd be in big trouble come next week. Then there's the fangirly giddiness over San Diego...
Work's been meh. I had a few last-minute shows last week, which usually means the quality of said shows is questionable. But last night, I got lucky: we're reformatting/captioning Showtime at the Apollo and we're finally at Mo'Nique's first ep after maternity leave. OMG, I missed her so much. She looks great for a woman in her last 30s who just had twins.
I captioned tomorrow's America Celebrates at Ford's Theatre, on ABC. It's chockfull of country songs, but there's a nice part at the end where Tom Selleck reads the Gettysburg Address. I'd forgotten how eloquent (and short) Lincoln's speech was, and okay, I'll admit that I got a little misty-eyed & patriotic. And then, Dubya took the podium & my eye-rolling commenced.
Time to haul ass & take care of rent & grab a few things for the trip. Now I regret being lazy & watching Justice League on Saturday, instead of shopping. I'll catch up with everyone tonight. Hopefully, I'll get Jeopardy! and not Master of Champions, because I can't take another week of extreme unicycling. Seriously, that's a competition on an upcoming episode, and it's just as exciting as it sounds.
work,
oh canada
