Today's dilemma: I'm torn between a TV Boyfriend and TV Girlfriend. Gale Harold is on The Unit tonight at 9 p.m., the same time as VMars' season finale. How do I choose between them? Do I TiVo Gale tonight, download VM and TiVo her rerun on Sunday?

Sonic Youth on Gilmore Girls tonight. OMG, YES ( Read more... )

Thanks for the ep... now, how exactly do I open this? Do I need a special tool for .rar files?

You need Win Zip or some other file unzipping program. Download all four parts to the same folder. (It might be easiest to create a new folder.) Right-click on part 1 and select "Extract files..." You should end up with one big .avi file.

Let me know if that doesn't work or if right-clicking gives you different options.

Yeah, right-clicking doesn't give me the option to extract. And then I tried zipping the files and then extracting, and still no.

You're running Windows, right? When you right-click, select Win Zip if it's there. Or you might see "add to library" or something like that. If neither of those options are there, tell me what you have.

Stupid YSI had to limit file sizes! I think Megaupload still takes up to 350 MB, but it takes forever to u/l & d/l from there.

Right-clicking gives me the "Open With" option, or "scan", "send to", "cut", "copy", "create shortcut", "rename", and "properties". When I choose "open with", Win Zip is not an option. Instead I get Acrobat reader, explorere, iTunes, WMP, the office tools, word pad, and notepad and even photoshop. No Win Zip. I have extracted files with Win Zip before, so i know I have it... So confused!

Do you still have Win Zip on your PC? Try double clicking on part 1. That should bring up a dialog box. If not, go get WinZip & tell me if that works.
