Oh, Smallville. First, you make me hate Lana Lang with a passion. Then, you manage to wring some emotions out of Kristen Kreuk & deliver a fun and campy episode. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I kind of liked Lana for a minute.
Too bad "Thirst" played like one big in-joke for Buffy fans. (Remember when that was a good thing?)
I mean, "Buffy Sanders/Saunders"? Come on, DeKnight! If you're gonna be that obvious, then give her a sorority sister named Elm or Sycamore, or a boyfriend who's into guns and monsters. Sure, you had Marsters say, "There's no such thing as vampires," eliciting a multi-fandom squee. But dude, you wrote "Seeing Red," also known as the episode that divided fandom. (Yeah, I know he was writing what Joss wanted. Whatever.) Nevermind that you wrote "The Girl in Question"; I will never forget the horribleness of "SR".
Honestly, I don't remember how Clark & Prof. SoFine (as TWoP's Omar G calls him) solved the girls of their oral fixation. I was too busy wading through the rampant hoyay (now featuring boys and girls!). Dude, Lex & JM had an eye-fuckiong marathon. Time kinda stood still for me. I'm still not used to JM's "normal" accent, but I'm finally okay with the hair.
BTW, I figured out why the new opening credits annoy me. They're exactly like the LA Dodgers player videos, displayed when they're up to bat. BF & I like to say "whoosh" when each guy spins around.
Random t.v. reminder: Peter Hermann is on Hope & Faith tonight!!
If you haven't seen the promos, it's the Halloween episode, and yes, PH will be wearing a costume for the entire episode. A fairly appropriate costume, which will be later enhanced with an accessory, and hopefully made into an icon by me. So, Pipa Haters, suck it up & just pretend that Kelly Ripa is Mariska. (Though pretty soon, that may not be far from the truth.)
Tonight, 9 p.m., on the alphabet. Plus, kelbelle captioned this episode :)
