I really should be reviewing right now..but instead, I'm procrastinating and writing this entry. Ughh, way to go apl! orz
Anyway, my C79 doujins are on their way here to Taiwan! Wheee~ One more week of waiting and it's like Christmas again! Just thinking of all that ShizuIza is making me drool~~ Only thing is, I'm not really looking forward to packing them into my luggage to the States because all of them are BL! Not to mention most are R18!! I mean, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EXPLAIN TO THE CUSTOMS IF THEY CATCH ME TRAFFICKING BOOKS WITH TWO or maybe even three.. HORNY GUYS GETTING IT ON!? >A< Man, seriously hoping that doesn't happen...orz
Another thing is the package weighs around 5kg! It's all good if it was the only thing I needed to bring with me..but aside from that, I have clothes and lots of other books to carry too! That and the empty luggage by itself probably weighs around 5kg! ;A;
Of course, I didn't completely write this entry just to rant..I wanted to show off the goodies I got from Taiwan too! XD I swear it's like the next best place (Japan being the best of course) to go otaku shopping! <3
Without further ado,
I bought all 6 DRRR novels licensed here in Taiwan! I know there are fan translations online, but reading the hard copy is so much better! Though I kinda managed to finish volume 1 only, with my lame Chinese reading skills and all.. but man, I'm already loving it more than the anime! Can't wait to read the rest! >w<
Aside from that, I bought a couple of mangas from the manga store near our place. Volumes 7 and 8 of Tsukihime (which my bro is crazy about..R18 too, meaning more pron problems for the customs..;A;), vol. 4 of Haruhi-chan and all the vols. of Baccano which Narita wrote the script himself! Haven't read it yet though because I gotta watch the anime first. XD
I got Sugar Code and Anata no Tame ni by my fav BL authors, Natsume Isaku and Nakamura Asumiko too~ Both obviously are also R18..>A<
Our local manga store gave us these freebies after buying all those books. They also give out plastic covers (on the right) for every book you buy from them. Really really love that place! >w<
We went to Animate's branch here in Taiwan for the first time too. Had to ask our dad to drive us there to Taipei, because it's 2 hours away from where we live! >A< There were a lot of people but the trip was well worth it because I managed to get myself these little folders with Izaya and Shizuo looking spiffy in suits, as well as the calendar~ <3 They're considerably less pricier too compared to those being sold online! Man, I really should've grabbed more DRRR merchandise while I was there. ;A;
Last but not the least, these are all the doujins I got from both Animate and Mandarake. Too bad Animate only had a few DRRR doujins because it's still fairly new. Unlike KHR, Sengoku Basara and Hetalia which occupied 2 walls of the store. The cashier said that maybe if I come back next year, they'll have more by then. orz After that, she proceeded to ask me for an ID when I paid for the doujins, which kinda surprised me because I think I look older than 18 already..That and I didn't have a valid Taiwan ID with me! Good thing she accepted my US State ID though~ LOLXD As for Mandarake, shipping within Asia is so much cheaper compared to the States! Gotta take advantage while I'm still here! XD However, that would mean more problems hiding my doujins from the Customs..orz
Anyway, that's about it. 6kg worth of dead weight for my luggage. /cry And I still have a few sets of old mangas (around 20 vols. each) I have to bring with me! And other random useless stuff that I bought! /dies
Ah well...no use worrying about it now when I haven't even received my C79 package yet nor have I started packing. XD
.....and after writing all that, I'm still not in the mood to start reviewing...orz
