Ike
Quickly, because I should be in bed.... we evacuated from Ike on Friday morning - well, Eddie evacuated Friday, I was already in Austin visiting. Our condo has walls of glass in the living, dining and bedroom, and I didn't want to be there if we were unlucky enough that those broke. (Of course, neighbors who didn't bother to take anything off their balconies didn't help my concern.) We boarded the cats here in Austin.
We may be going back tomorrow, depending on what we hear about services and roads. Hopefully we'll find everything okay, but we're expecting to be without power, water or cell phone service. We were supposed to be in Albuquerque right now visiting Eddie's family and attending his class reunion. The best case scenario for us is that we're able to go back sooner and leave for Albuquerque after assessing any damage and putting our plants back outside. That way we can spend at least part of the projected time without services in beautiful New Mexico.
