Scene: Random and filler.
Setting: the Autumn Festival
Chars: Babui, Alzeria, Sulis, Raszagal, Vache, Kiyah, Tonitrus, Yoshio, Arohtarwena, and Anabaena.

The Ingathering
A long altar rests in the middle of the chamber covered in a brightly colored orange cloth detailed with autumn leaves and cornstalks. Placed on the altar are two candles, both tall tapered and pitch black next to a smaller white and black one nestled in pewter candle holders. A display of grain breads, fall vegetables and incenses are displayed as part of the offerings to the gods. The scent of mints, nutmeg, and apples wafts from the block incense burners carefully placed at each corner of the altar. Sconces made of brass are set into the walls giving off flickers of light surrounding the altar and cauldron in this central chamber. Magical sparkles of energy emanate from each of the four corners of the chamber lending their power towards the central altar.

Babui looks at Raszagal with a questioning, 'Is this the island in mind?' Glancing wearily at the gathering here, she looks expectantly at Raszagal.

Alzeria snickers softly.

Suliss says 'Alzeria, my dear, I must return to Iniquity. Please enjoy yourself as you will. A party is a party.'

Suliss says 'To all, I bid you good even, and wish the blessing of darkness upon you.'

With a sympathetic look, Raszagal whispers to Babui, 'No, we've still got some ways to go. I was hoping we could seek shelter here for the night.' [Raszagal]

Alzeria waves goodbye to Suliss.

Alzeria says 'Lloth guard you on your travel mother'

Suliss leaves southeast.

'It's supposed to be have a half deserted mansion,' hoping she has not intruded onto unfriendly territory. [Raszagal]

Babui nods solemnly. 'That is a good idea, I am getting a bit tired.' Running a hand through her hair, she tidies up the results from a long journey and manages a small smile at the group.

Alzeria sighs and slinks over to a far wall, leaning against it and perusing the guests out of sheer amusement...odd ones these are...

Raszagal scurries over to Luna and gives her a quick embrace. Whispering something into her ear, Luna frowns slightly before nodding hesitantly. She gestures Raszagal to the altar and in turn, Raszagal nods in assent.

Alzeria raises an eyebrow.

Alzeria watches in amusement.

Alzeria yawns.

Babui frowns slightly at Luna. Glancing around, she reluctantly followed Raszagal to the altar.

Vache gently pets Alzeria.

Alzeria raises an eyebrow at Vache.

Raszagal offers what meager food she has onto the altar in respect for the Gods, although she believes in none. Whispering lowly to Babui, 'The woman says we may stay the night, but must offer a little something in return.'

Alzeria asks Vache, 'how dare you think you could touch, much less pet a drowess?'

Vache points at Kiyah accusingly.

Kiyah says 'don't bring me into this'

Alzeria snickers softly.

'The place isn't much, but it's at least a safe place.' [Raszagal]

Deciding there is not enough activity here to keep her interest, Alzerian wanders out, eager to return to the darkness of Iniquity. [Alzeria]

Alzeria leaves southeast.

Babui shrugs carelessly. She was never one for holy offerings. Rummaging through her satchel, she found nothing she cared to offer.

Shrugging again, she looks around, in hope of finding something she can place on the altar.

Raszagal gets a magic mushroom from a burlap sack.

Raszagal gives a magic mushroom to Babui.

'Offer this and hopefully we might move on from this place, when day breaks.' [Raszagal]

Babui smiled at Raszagal thankfully, and dropped the mushroom on the altar.

Raszagal is albeit slightly relieved as the party of people seems to have dwindled, but wonders where they could at least sleep. Luna promised safe haven, but not beds! It looked like it was going to be another night of sleeping on hard ground.

With an exaggerated act of flourish, Babui made a deep bow at the altar. [Babui]

Turning to Raszagal, 'so...is this the place we are going to stay tonight?' She looked around the room with a slow gaze, taking in everyone present. [Babui]

Babui reached for her dagger, running a finger down the hilt. Danger does not fear me, she thought. However, glancing at Raszagal, she wondered how her friend would fend.

Tonitrus strolls in, arms clasped behind his back, humming an ethereal sort of melody. His eyes scan the altar with vague amusement, as seems content to keep on walking.

Following her companion's gaze at various party members, Raszagal did not recognise a face in the crowd. It's not like she was concerned with any of them. She had her priorities straight and she trusted in herself alone to see things through. [Raszagal]

It didn't matter that none of the Humans had responded to her want ad, they would have likely been a waste of gold. Although, she would have rather liked to sleep in warm beds then camp out on rocky forested grounds. [Raszagal]

Babui As her gaze panned across the room, she paused at the new figure casually walking in. Her eyes flickered with recognition, and a pleased smile creeped on her face.

Tonitrus continues his walk and his half-forgotten song without noticing the others present in the room until, as he turns to leave, his eyes catch Babui. 'Mm,' he mutters, 'Don't I know you from somewhere?'

Babui beams brightly at Tonitrus. She rocked on her heels, trying hard to refrain from leaping at him and giving him a big hug. 'Yes sir, it's great to see you again.'

Tugging rapidly at Raszagal's sleeve for her attention, she whispered excitedly, 'lookie!' [Babui]

'I see, I think...' Raszagal frowns slightly and continues in a hushed voice. 'But I don't know that man.' [Raszagal]

Tonitrus stops walking suddenly, as if to think over the matter. 'Ah, yes, I remember,' he says distantly, not sounding entirely convinced. 'And what are you fine people doing here, if I may ask?'

Still beaming brightly, she didn't really notice Raszagal's reply. 'We're resting here tonight, I believe.' Considering whether to ask, her curiosity finally got the better of her, 'And you sir? It is surely a surprising sight to see you here today.' [Babui]

The fall was definitely Yoshio's favourite time of the year. The chilly air made him shiver slightly and he wraps his cloak around him tightly as he walks on the pathway toward the Altar. Multi-colored fallen leaves crunch beneath his feet as he treads the moonlit trail. [Yoshio]

Yoshio's steps echo as he climbs the stone steps before the altar. He makes his way through the halls, side by side with his half-Elven wife and baby girl, into the gathering. [Yoshio]

Yoshio arrives from the southwest.

Arohtarwena arrives from the southwest.

Arohtarwena enters and peers around, baby in her arms, her hair in a slightly messy bun.

Cradling the tiny baby girl close to her, she walks close to Yoshio. As one who used to have to lead a life of stealth...crunching leaves everywhere annoyed her utterly. She felt as loud and bumbling as an ogre. [Arohtarwena]

Tonitrus nods in apparent agreement and looks around. After a bit, he murmurs, 'It's the air. It's different,' nodding to himself as if that had answered all questions.

Stealing away as another pair enters the room, Raszagal goes to walk quickly throughout the mansion in search of more private rooms or at least one with a warm fire. "A Human and half-Elf," she muses to none but herself. "I suppose odder things happened in this world." [Raszagal]

Babui chuckles softly at Tonitrus. She was well aware of his quirks. "Still as cute", she muses.

Anabaena arrives from the southeast.

Anabaena smiles happily.

Looking over Tonitrus' shoulder, she saw a new couple enter the room. "Ahh...another familiar face," she thought. "What a night". Reaching a hand to tug Raszagal's sleeve again, her hand grasped empty air. Blinking in surprised, she glances around the room for her friend. [Babui]

Tonitrus intently watches Raszagal leave, smiling hungrily. Finally, he whispers to Babui, 'Is she yours?'

'Dear, how long are we going to stay? It's chilly and I don't want Melima to catch cold,' she smiles softly and tries not to sound nagging. [Arohtarwena]

Babui's smile faded as she gaps at Tonitrus in shock. Hitting Tonitrus' arm lightly, she quickly made her stance known, 'She's a friend. Don't hurt her please.'

'I am not sure. Do you want my cloak?' he asks, coming in full view of the altar. He removes his cloak anyway, stooping to go to wrap the baby in it. 'Here...' [Yoshio]

Yoshio glances around as he hands the cloak to Arohtarwena. 'There are people here I would like to speak too. You may find a quiet spot to feed Melima if you wish.'

Tonitrus sighs, licking his teeth slowly, as he turns back toward the room, where he appears to notice the newcomers for the first time. 'Ah, Yoshio,' he says, bowing, 'It's been some time. And you,' he begins, examining Arohtarwena, stopping briefly to sniff the air in her direction. 'You smell familiar.' [Tonitrus]

Glancing warily at the man and holding Melima closer, 'Perhaps you are mistaken...' She glances to Yoshio, 'Who might this be?' She adds in her mind...and how does he recognize me?? [Arohtarwena]

As silently as she could, Raszagal sidled back beside Babui. [Raszagal]

Yoshio bows to Tonitrus and smiles softly. 'Yes, it has been a while. It is good to see you are doing well Tonitrus.' After greeting Tonitrus, he takes notice toward the other two females around the room, not quite sure who they were.

Soundlessly, Anabaena sneaks in the door way. She recognizes few silhouettes, but her eyes quickly come across few other faces that, in the dimmed light, she can't recognize. She leans against the wall behind her, deciding to hide in the shadows a bit longer. [Anabaena]

Babui too, turned to greet Yoshio. Dropping in a curtsey, she smiled politely, 'Greetings sir. It's nice to see you again. However, excuse me while I have to look for a friend of mine.' As she was about to turn to leave, she sensed a moving figure next to her. Smiling as she saw Raszagal, she acknowledged her return with a reassuring nod and took hold of Raszagal's sleeve lightly, in case she leaves again. [Babui].

Tonitrus glances between Arohtarwena and Yoshio for a moment, frowns, and then says only 'Ah.' After a moment or two, he mutters dryly, 'Water, water, everywhere, and all the boards did shrink.'

'Greetings ladies, I am not sure I have ever seen your faces...' he says softly yet clearly enough for them to hear toward them. [Yoshio]

Spotting a corner away from everyone else, she says softly to Yoshio, 'I'll be just over there feeding Melima...' before walking away and turning so that no one could watch. [Arohtarwena]

Yoshio frowns, as he remembers the vampire by Tonitrus. 'Babui...' he whispers, now remembering faintly that girl he met briefly.

And the other girl... she looked a bit like another vampire he once knew. He turns toward Arohtarwena and whispers 'They are Vampires from the keep of Lomar, my dear.' [Yoshio]

Anabaena raises her gaze as she hears the old adapted saying, a grin playing on her lips. 'Wow if anyone was wondering who he was, now we all know his lust for blood,' she says inwardly. Her eyes go from Tonitrus to Arohtarwena, then back to Tonitrus.

Arohtarwena hears the whisper from all the way across the room, a wonderful gift from the elven half of her heritage. Though its words she'd rather not have heard...well she did feel better that they were from Lomar. As long as Yoshio knew them, she should be fine. [Arohtarwena]

Yoshio smiles at the arival of the elven queen. He gives her a bow and a hearted smile. 'Lady Anabaena... welcome.'

Babui turns back to Yoshio and smiles softly as he seems to recognize her. Quite the gathering, at such an odd place, she chuckled in her thoughts.

'Anabaena!' Aroh exclaims with a smile, 'I would come and greet you but I am feeding Melima.' She still sits in the corner with her back facing the rest of the group so that she has a little more privacy to breastfeed. [Arohtarwena]

Tonitrus begins to sway from side-to-side and resumes humming the wispy melody of before. He slowly seems to become less aware of his surroundings as he does so, and finally begins to walk in an apparently random direction, as if following something.

Anabaena beams a surprised smile at Yoshio. 'I guess your ears are better than thought… dear Friend,' she says stepping out of the shadow, dressed and looking as usual, neglected and as if she was coming back from an expedition in the wood. Between her fingers, she spins the tiny black flower. The flower is what brought her here this evening, once a year, in the area, this precious flower grow. 'Arohtarwena, Glad to see you are both doing well,' she says turning her attention on the mother and child.

'This is the warmest room and the most comfortable room in the mansion, I'm afraid,' Raszagal whispers to Babui's ear, as she quickly glances over the entire room. The odd swaying man only hastened her wish for daybreak. [Raszagal]

Turning her head, and only just enough to see Ana, she smiles softly to her, 'Thanks to your midwife skills we are...I don't know what I would have done were it not for your assistance.' [Arohtarwena]

Babui looks at the emerging shadow. A face she didn't recognize. However, comfortable that she seem to be friends with Yoshio and his companion, she turns her attention to Raszagal. 'Don't worry,' she giggles softly at Raszagal's glance at Tonitrus. 'He won't harm you.' Pausing to survey the room, taking into consideration the roles and character of the people she knew, and the ones they are affiliated with, she continues, 'I think we will be safe here.' [Babui]

Yoshio gives an extravagant and deep bow for Anabaena. 'It is good to see you, no matter what the occasion.' He gives Anabaena a wink. He walks to his wife's side before turning his gaze toward Tonitrus. 'How are things in Lomar?'

Tonitrus, humming louder, clasps his hands behind his back, causing a scalpel to slide slowly from his sleeve into his open hand. He twirls it slowly across his fingers, entrenched in deep thought, various syllables of which make their way to his mouth in slurred incoherence. [Tonitrus]

Raszagal frowns at Yoshio. If he was from Lomar, he should know what the situation was like instead of having to ask a rocking lunatic. Sighing as if strongly opposed to staying her, Raszagal nods at Babui. She was just grumpy from having to deal with overly devout priests, and the wounded and living alike. [Raszagal]

Anabaena winks back at Yoshio, offering him an exaggerated curtsey, holding the hem of her dirty skirt between her dirty long fingers. She reaches the couple in few steps and leans over to have a look at the baby. 'Gorgeous... and Arwen, You would have done just fine... you are the one who gave birth, you, did all the work lady.' she whispers to Aroth's ear. [Anabaena]

'True as that may be, Ma'am...you did know the right concoctions to give me to help control bleeding and reduce the pain.' She laughs softly before adding, 'And that, Ana, was MUCH appreciated.' [Arohtarwena]

'I am happy I could be of any help, Arwen,' she says before putting a soft kiss on the mother's head. Feeling her appearance has attracted some attention, she whirls around and glances at people present in the altar room. After a short moment, Anabaena offers to anyone looking, a very shy and quick bow. [Anabaena]

'Lomar...' Tonitrus muses, staring at the wall. 'And who would put a wall here?' He examines it in greater detail, tracing a finger across the cloth. 'Lomar is Kingless.' [Tonitrus]

Still holding Raszagal's sleeve, Babui walks to a nearby wall, away from Arohtarwena and the mass of people, pulling Raszagal gently with her. She turned and whispered reassuringly again, ‘Don't worry.' [Babui]

Raszagal whispers softly, 'If you say so, but we're leaving at first light. I know a more hospitable inn than this place. But it can't be helped though for tonight.'

"Kingless, huh?" Yoshio thought this "'Malcom Dragonfang' said he would do well as king... and he didn't even last a year on the throne. I will have to go investigate for myself soon..." [Yoshio]

Tonitrus's eyes burn like coals in the darkness.

'Lomar is better for it,' Raszagal sneers loudly. [Raszagal]

Yoshio turns his gaze toward the lady that looked like the lady vampire companion from Lomar and nods. 'Maybe so, I will visit pretty soon. It has been a while...'

Babui shakes her head and chuckles at Raszagal's apparent reluctance to stay in this place. Particularly since Babui, herself, was more wary originally.

'A leaderless people is just asking for trouble though...' Aroh says softly, her brow furrowed at the thought of what chaos that could bring. Melima had finished feeding for the time being and Aroh readied herself before turning back around and caressing her child's cheek. [Arohtarwena]

Tonitrus nods, slowly turning back to face the room. 'He is gone and good riddance. Lomar needs no King. We have a Republic now.' Tonitrus grins viciously. 'It is delightful.'

Anabaena arches a thin black eyebrow. 'What happened to him, that Malcom, You mean he just left? Why?' she wonders, her voiced tinted by uncontrolled curiosity. She had met the man last year, when she was asked to go help the Humans. His baldness, his ego, his lack of trust... perhaps were all reasons why she didn't like him. [Anabaena]

'Surely, it sounds much better.' And perhaps it will dull such lusts for power that was Malcom Dragonfang's. He still gazes over Raszagal. 'Are you related to a woman named Yelisa at all, my lady?' [Yoshio]

Tonitrus grins widely. 'Yes, yes, gone. I suspect the madness took him, like the kings before. Warned him, I did, "Keep in the madness."' His smile then fades, suddenly. 'He did not know his place.'

Babui looks at Raszagal, a look of surprise passing her face. Her new friend does look like Yelisa. She hadn't noticed before.

Arohtarwena somewhat zones out as she sings softly to Melima, barely audible.

Anabaena's eyes follow Yoshio's gaze. The woman's appearance doesn't seem to trigger any memory, and neither does the name Yoshio has pronounced... Yelisa. She shrugs and beams a large smile at Tonitrus. 'Of course he didn't know the keep, he arrived one day and was made or self proclaimed king the very next day... how could he have known anything... really?' she exclaims with a smirk. [Anabaena]

Raszagal narrows her eyes and for an instant she regretted not veiling herself on this trip. Even if he was from the Keep, she only spent her time in the Keep to be closer to her Mistress behind those bars of steel. Why did not Yelisa bothered to slip through her prison? The thought always echoed in her mind. 'What business do you have with her?' Raszagal replies without emotion and detached. [Raszagal]

'Yelisa is a... acquaintance of mine, my lady. And you look similar to her.' he speaks softly to the woman, just gazing at her curiously. [Yoshio]

Tonitrus's eyes flash wildly, as he begins a flurry of words. 'Fool! And would you believe it? He thought we'd bow. And now just bow, but to him! Older than the stones of his false-freak show-abandonment, and he thought to rise against us! He actually believed it, you could see it, yes... Fool! Idiot paladin morality. It's a pity he left, really, I had a few things left to say...' [Tonitrus]

Snapping out of her daze and her voice falling silent, Aroh realizes she zoned out and turns a few shades of red. [Arohtarwena]

Yoshio smiles softly as he remembers clearly now why he left so long ago. As strange as Tonitrus may be, he was 100% correct.

Yoshio turns to his wife and child, planting a gently peck on his daughter's forehead. For a moment, he enters a trance of his own.

Anabaena laughs at the vampire's word, nodding vigorously. 'I bet you still have much to tell him... and If I am not mistaken, he arrived in your walls announcing the keep would be attacked... for all we know, he could have, himself, brought war upon your nation to serve his own deeds and lust for glory... fool indeed... but again... somehow he did gather few nations to help him…' she raises her shoulders and maintains the shrug. 'I mean even the Elf nation... and the Orcs...' she shakes her head as an awful memory… Orcs and Elves… all united for the human cause... 'What a painful and awkward sight it was...' she finishes, shivering. [Anabaena]

Even if Yoshio was actually an acquaintance of her Mistress, Raszagal was never given any special orders. How dare he bring her name up so candidly? 'Do what you want,' Raszagal says to Babui. Remembering who she was speaking to, Raszagal alters her tone of voice, 'We're leaving at dawn.' [Raszagal]

Babui nods understandingly. Just in case, she adds, 'the ones from Lomar...they are friends with Lady Yelisa...' Worried she might spoil Raszagal's mood further, she hushed and just nod, settling herself on the ground.

Warmest room or not, Raszagal stalks out of the altar-room and flips out her bedroll for whatever sleep that will come to her. [Raszagal]

Feeling a bit fatigued and watching Melima sleep in her arms, Aroh almost envies the child's blissful rest. Would that her nights of late had been so restful! [Arohtarwena]

Babui sighs. She heaves herself up from the ground slowly and inelegantly. Her daggers make a loud clanging sound as they hit the floor as Babui tries to get up. Sighing again, she pushes the hair out of her tired eyes and gathered her weapons, keeping her eyes on the floor. Concealing and securing her weapons inside her shroud again, she smiled apologetically to the room and followed Raszagal out. [Babui]

Yoshio kisses Aroh's forehead softly next and smiles. 'We will leave soon on our way to the next inn...' he whispers to her. A strange gathering of people, but some familiar faces... nearly all of them... As he sees the two women leave, be offers them a bow.

Turning to Anabaena, he smiles and bows to her as well. 'Anabaena, would you like to acompany us to the closest inn? You can rest there as well tonight.' [Yoshio]

Arohtarwena nods slightly and smiles softly, 'I'm sorry I am so tired and not 'all-together' today hon, I think the lack of sleep is catching up with me.'

Tonitrus nods. 'Indeed, you should rest. It's good for the blood.'

Anabaena brings her long-fingered hand to her mouth, attempting to hide the yawn reaching her lips. 'Sorry,' she apologizes, smiling softly. Her eyes filled with tears, she stretches her thin limbs. After few bones have cracked, leaving her more comfortable, she glances around, to see the two women departing. 'Well I have some more search to do around here, Yoshio.' She waves gently the flower in her hand, grinning at Tonitrus' comments. 'But I can accompany you three, if you need my help... Otherwise I'll stay here and do what I have to do.'

Yoshio bows to Tonitrus, tho hoping he wouldn't chase down his wife... or his dear friend. 'I will be returning to Lomar soon, Tonitrus. Perhaps you can still use a warrior such as myself.' He smiles softly at Anabaena and shakes her head. 'We won't need any help and shall not burden you if we do not need too. Be well, Lady Anabaena.' He turns to his wife again, holding his hands out and offering to carry the baby and giving Aroh a break from carrying her.

Grateful to her husband, Aroh carefully places Melima in his arms. 'Thank you, dear. At least she's napping now...but that means that when we lay down to sleep, she won't be.' She laughs softly. [Arohtarwena]

Tonitrus bows to Yoshio as well. 'Lomar always has need of a good general. Although I do not, myself, decide such things, for the moment.' While speaking, he glances down, seeming to notice the scalpel for the first time.

It vanishes neatly into his sleeve. [Tonitrus]

Anabaena 'May the moon protect you all! May the stars sparkle up your dreams!' she wishes to Yoshio and his family, quite unsure if she should offer such to a vampire, holding a scalpel. 'Farewell and careful with these sharp blades in your sleeves' she says, winking at Tonitrus. She offers to everyone a low bow then whirls around and nimbly she makes her way out.

Yoshio takes his daughter in his arms and smiles softly at her. He speaks without looking away. 'Thank you, both of you. You shall both hear from me sooner or later.' Before heading out into the hall again, he offers a nod and soft smile to Anabaena and Tonitrus.

Arohtarwena stays close to Yoshio's side as they leave...happy to finally be heading to a bed!

Tonitrus smiles, in vaguely high-spirits, as everyone departs. Walking slowly toward the altar, he furrows his brow in thought. After a few moments, he shrugs. 'Strange people,' he mutters.
