I grew up in predominately Catholic small towns. We always had tomato soup or fish for Friday's school hot lunch, and the restaurants served clam chowder on Friday. We all knew of or observed Fat Tuesday, Lent, Palm Sunday, etc., with a community Easter Sunrise Service, put on by the Protestants.
I moved away and it was, like, what happened to Friday? Where did the days leading up to Easter go?
So to my Catholic friends, a good Good Friday tomorrow, and Sunday, a Happy Easter all!
