I've been fairly productive today, better than past Sat. or weekends. I have almost all my tests graded (fairly easy) and the house is pretty much in order (i'm not bothering with scrubbing the floors when it's so freakin' muddy out!) My project for Critical Theory (yes, I turned in a weak 5 pg. draft (suppose to be 20 pgs.) on Tuesday - don't worry most everyone else didn't have a rough draft - yeaaa for extensions!) is shaping up. My professor gave me some feedback and I have a clearer idea of what my research question is and how to relate it to the seminar material. Now, finding time to find some more research and articles, and re-read seminar material will be somewhat of a challenge - but I'm up to it! Before, I felt like my project was all over the place - now, a clearer research question also means better searches for literature.
The problem is that I don't know where to get empirical data to measure authoritarian and anti-authoritarian tendencies in women workers (anywhere in the world). I'm still waiting to talk to one of the reference librarians my professor recommended - that usually seems to help some. Till then it's going to be spending a lot of time with the KU libraries catalog and Google scholar.
Okay, enough boring school talk about research that no one will ever read or find useful (how's that for cynicism?) - now, my main problem and question: should I go out tonight or not???? I know, life in grad school is soooo rough - how will I ever make it through? I think the answer is going to be lots and lots of pints at Henry's (you know, thinking juice!) If I work for another hour, I think a short trip to Henry's won't be so out of line?!
