Sidenote: [Just as I began to write this post Mr. Dewey started making really loud howling meows from downstairs. I can also tell he has his mouse toy (half-gutted by Chaz) with him. Right about this time he always does this, except this time he's very persistent and loud about it. He really is the most amusing/wierdest cat.]
So, I did it again - I stayed up until past 4:00 am. This is really not good considering that I have to be on campus at 8:00 am on Tuesday for a Research Summit. Oh well, there will be lots of coffee drinking that morning and some afternoon napping. On the positive side, I did get my basement almost completely cleaned and reorganized. I moved the dining room table legs and chairs to a corner. I also moved all my roommates totes out of the main basement room into the storage/laundry room. I washed all the cats blankets and swept the whole basement. I also vaccuumed the rug in the office and moved the 6 foot tall scratching post from the storage room into the office (quite difficult to do by myself - especially considering that Kali thought I was doing this just for her amusement, so she could hop on and off and run up and down it while it was moving). All that is left: file papers and take my old desk and vacuum cleaner out to the trash. Yeeeaa!
What did I do all evening then before I got to the basement? Let's see - I researched what new cell phone I want (I got some good extra deals from Sprint if I stayed there customer and changed my plan/lowered my minutes now). I think I have decided on the Katana (slightly similar to the Motorazor phone). I also downloaded some more music, and burned off data discs of old music to make more room on my computer. Airhead things I did for the night: I tried out some new makeup techniques, well actually I just started applying different eyeshadows and eyeliner/pencils to get the "smoky-eyes" look. Surprisingly, I think I like it, at least for nighttime/party makeup. I also researched online the latest winter fashion trends. I don't normally follow these things closely, especially since I hardly look at Glamour, Allure, or any fashion magazines. I'll ocassionaly buy trendy clothes, but most of the stuff I buy is somewhat classic or classic enough that it can be worn for several years. I did find out that my wearing of pencil skirts is trendy this season, especially with a cashmere sweater and pumps. Other than that, some of the stuff I did not really want to try out: like bright red and purple colors (doesn't really look good with my skintones). I still also do not know about the belt around the waist fashion - we'll see. I am excited to start looking for some cute, heeled pumps though (also different for me, especially considering that I don't really go crazy over shoes).
Okay, enough - I've got to start winding down and try to get some sleep before the sun starts to rise.
