the good kind of business

namely, MY business. I'm so damn excited about this little project! for those I haven't shared this with yet, here's the deal: I am making cloth menstrual pads over break and selling them to friends and fellow stuents for 8 to 9 bucks a piece. This is awesome for several reasons. There is not much work at the nursery in January and I'll be home for a couple weeks and could use something to do and can always use money. Also I think they're awesome and good for women and good for the environment. Also the price I'm selling them for is cheaper than most I've seen elsewhere. Also I like sewing. so yeah, product I think is good, price I think is good, work I enjoy, and still making more than WA minimum wage for my labor. I went and made two sales pitches today at org meetings and made pre-sales for $200 worth! I have another tomorrow where I expect to get about $50 worth or more and a couple more orgs on my to-do list as well as posting on the mhc .forsale message board. It's so exciting to have a project I came up with doing so well. I got a really great recepetion at the meetings--people really liked my idea and thought my sample ones looked really nice. so happy!
btw if any of you are interested in buying some let me know via email or whatever. Special requests are welcome, (ie: buttons vs snaps, long ones for over-night, smaller ones as pantiliners), $8 a piece no matter what size. If you're in WA I can get them to you in time to be christmas presents for friends and family if you specify that. Apologies to the pagans- can't get them in time for solstice without extraordinary bribes since that's the day after I get home.
peace
k
