At the height of the Glorietta 2 incident,
an ofcmate asked me if I received a message
claiming that 3 of my former ofcmates/teammates were
included in the list of those who died in the bombing.
She said, she got a ym message from someone claiming
to be the brother of one of the 3 victims.
At that moment, I felt really disturbed and thought
that this was not a good prank, that is if it was just a prank.
As soon as I got home, I opened my ym only to find out that
I also got the same message my ofcmate got, and
another message confirming that it was really true and not
just another prank. Then I felt the urge to check tv patrol
videos and other online sources to see for myself. Much as I wanted
to disprove it, i saw their names right infront of me.
Until now, I still cannot comprehend how in just a blink of an eye,
innocent people, or worse, a friend or someone you know of could have
died like that along with their hopes and dreams for their loved ones.
But I know that God has a reason for everything and He knows what's best.
I am just thankful that even in such short time God gave me the chance
to meet these 3 wonderful people. Rest assured, their memories will
forever be cherished.
To Mau, for the countless OTs we've spent and the stories we've shared..
for those laughters and tears..
To "Tito" Onin, for laughing moments and your kakulitan..
To Jee Ann, for the warm smile on your face everytime we say hello..
May your souls rest in perfect peace with God and His angels
And may God give strength to your families and grant them with comfort
Thank you for everything
You'll surely be missed
Till we meet again..
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. Know a good thing when you see it, and don't let it slip away. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just said it would be worth it."
