My nails are too long and they're clicking on the keys as I type. It's totally grody. We're going to Prosser this weekend to visit John's sister. It should be fun. Why is it that I always seem to have long nails when we're about to go out of town? Not like I can't cut them tonight but there have been a lot of times when I haven't and I'll be sitting in some hotel room frantically digging for nail clippers cuz when they get past my fingertip I cannot stop clicking my nails on things and touching them and just generally being annoyed by them.
This morning I went outside for a few minutes and after I came back in, after a few minutes, I noticed I had what I thought was a wasp on my shoe! I freaked out and kicked the shoe off and yelled for John to come and save me. The wasp was crawling slowly all over my shoe and I couldn't bring myself to touch it. John picked it up and looked closely at it and saw that it was a beetle with wasp-like stripes and wings. He called it a "mimic." So that freaked me out just cuz it was startling, but then I sat down to do a crossword puzzle, which was unusual because in the morning I ALWAYS write in my journal but for some reason this morning I thought I didn't want to "deal with" writing in it. So I randomly open the crossword puzzle book to start a puzzle and the first clue was "Acts like a 38-across." I look at 38-across and the clue is "Imitator." AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH OK, the answer wasn't "mimic," it was "copycat" but it was still the same message. So I'm taking that as a sign to be on the lookout for phonies today. Or maybe to not be a phony myself.
At our 3:00 break Susan already said she wants to get ice cream instead of coffee. A new ice cream place opened nearby that makes their own ice cream and then if you want to put things in it like candy or cookies, they plop the ice cream down on a marble slab and chop the candy into it. It's hella good. AND they have a flavor called Cake Batter. The only way they could make that better is by topping the ice cream with real cake batter. I had a ton of cake batter the other day at Pat's cuz she was making cup cakes. I probably ate 3 cup cakes' worth of batter. I couldn't stop myself, it was too delish. I was afraid my stomach would explode from baking soda or whatever it is that makes cake rise, but nothing happened.
