Snagged from
ancarett Hummm, I apparently didn't do this for 2012, so here's two years for you! Oy, vey! :D
In 2012, I wrote five fanfiction stories (180,000), ten in 2013 (247,000), totaling 427,000 words in two years. I was actually down in 2012 but not by much, and then up in 2013!
My longest fan fiction in 2012 was
I Still Believe (111,000) (Clark/Lois, Superman Returns (2012)). That particular story topped off a trilogy that started with Lois finding out the truth after Clark is accidentally exposed to RedK!
My longest fan fiction in 2013 was
Man of Steel: A Risk Worth Taking (133,000) (Clark/Lois, Man of Steel (2013)). Well, after starting this story with a 'crystal star' prompt in the LJ 12Days of Clois Christmas Challenge in December 2012, and after Lois figures out Clark's secret within a week, things took off from there. It took a year, but it's done! Or maybe not. I have a sequel planned for the new year.
My best story: Well, it has to be
Man of Steel: Stolen Moments (Clark/Lois, Man of Steel (2013)). After seeing the movie on Thursday evening before going wide, I wrote this story two days later. I had a lot of fun with it, even adding a bit of humor. Lois and Clark were hot and heavy throughout most of it. Now, on FFN, it is the 'all-time favorite' story. I'm very pleased.
My favorite story: Do I have to choose? Alright, then,
If I Have to Wait (Thor/Jane, Thor/Avengers (2013)). I'd written Thor/Jane before in another story, but after finding out a few tidbits about their relationship in Thor 2, this story turned out way too emotional, but I loved how it came together.
My favorite OC: I have two (Joanne Kent and Samuel Hamilton)! I Still Believe (Clark/Lois Superman Returns (2012)). A future fic of Clark's daughter and Lex Luthor's son meeting as pre-teens then growing up and falling in love. That was a true challenge, first giving Lex a son, then putting him together with Clark's daughter blew my mind. *Am I writing this?* I think it went over well though and I loved, loved writing Clark's reactions throughout the entire story.
Story most under-appreciated by fandom, in my opinion: Hummm, well, Tollie again..
Reckless Love (Tess/Oliver, Smallville, (2013)). Tess and Oliver in Earth 2 were not on screen during those two episodes. With a bit of encouragement, I put them together after the events of those episodes. Oliver is alive and Tess finally finds her true love.
Story I wrote that I never thought I'd write: A Canon Crossover
Man of Steel: On My Own (Clark/Lois Man of Steel/Superman Returns, (2013)). Talk about a shock to me! I initially started the story intent on giving Lois and Clark a chance to get reacquainted, but then why just dating, then an idea came to me ... throw them into SR and have them flail around in that story!! What a blast to write.
Most fun: My Man of Steel stories, all of them, which turned into a frenzy of writing that wouldn't stop. I loved it. All written in 2013, they included:
Man of Steel: A Risk Worth Taking;
Man of Steel: Stolen Moments;
Man of Steel: On My Own; and
Man of Steel: I'm on Fire. Whew!!
Sexiest story: Haha, no question:
Man of Steel: Stolen Moments. (Clark/Lois, Man of Steel (2013). It wasn't all sex, but Lois and Clark found a true partner and I think their love shined through, even in the sad moments of remembering his rescues of her, their brief talks, and finally the moment in the train station. *sniffs*
Hardest story to write: Yes, my fix-it fic:
Do You Believe in Fate? (Clark/Lois, Smallville (2013)). A story that came about through my need to see Clark Luthor redeemed and to find Lois Lane in his world. It was tremendously hard to fix the debacle of Earth 2, but it seemed as if it needed to be written. All I could see on FFN were 'hot and heavy Clark', unredeemed, and just a love machine. He's much more than that, so I had to write it.
Easiest to write: Humm, not really 'easy' but it flowed pretty well:
Embracing Destiny. (Clark/Lois, Superman Returns (2012)). The second story in a trilogy. Most of it was fun, with Lois, Clark, Jason, and Conner becoming a family, depending on each other, trusting each other, and with that trust, they were able to defeat not only Lex Luthor, but General Zod as well, who had escaped from prison.
Did you take any writing risks this year? See ... Hardest story to write!
Biggest disappointment: Humm, well, I would have to say
Relaunch (Cece/Schmidt, New Girl (2013)). Wow, did I make the wrong call. They broke up in Season 3. I'm not holding out any hope for them to reconcile! *face palm*
Biggest surprise: Humm, surprise? Meaning how well it did (most reviews EVER!).
Man of Steel: A Risk Worth Taking. (Clark/Lois, Man of Steel (2013)). I so enjoyed writing this story, from Lois and Clark connecting on a such a level that it surprised even me how close they became, then the rest was pretty easy. Totally surprising about the reviews though. It was so nice!!!
