Weigh in went as expected. I lost 4 lbs, Pam gained 4 lbs, Wendy lost 2.2 lbs and Kathy gained .2. Pam is so very discouraged. She has been there with me everyday working as hard if not harder than me and she gained 4 lbs. I think its because she doesnt eat. She said last night for supper she had a skinny cow ice cream. Congrats on the loss.
And yes, your friend who isn't eating is putting her body into starvation mode and her metabolism is shutting down.
But the reality is most likely that she's not honest about what and how much she's eating. If she's not writing it down and measuring it her portion perception could be her undoing.

I am terrible about writing it down. Im going to start today and maybe it will make me conscious of what im doing. I also wrote my weight down on my thumb(think Sarah Palin):) Everytime I think im hungry I look at it and take in some water or grab some gum.

PS You are my inspiration Sam. I see how well you are doing and think to myself I can do this!

Wow... well that's humbling.
I struggle with doing the right thing everyday.
And I don't see the change in me, other than the #s changing on the clothes.
But someone saw me yesterday who hadn't seen me in person in about a year and they walked past me, then came back.
I feel world's better and am ready to tackle the exercise component.

But the honest approach to what you're eating and how much is a reality check that some people on a weight loss plan just won't do.

I'm doing WW. And honestly, if you record the reality of what you are eating and the equivalent points (calories if you're using another tool) is directly related to the outcome week by week.

It really is that simple (I no longer have the thyroid/insulin issues I used to).

Congrats on the 4# loss.
You are right about Pam not eating and that is bad ... it changes the whole metabolism structure ... tell her to check it out - I hope she does better next time so she doesn't become too discouraged.

I hope so too. She has consistently lost weight. She feels like the workout is hurting her. I dont. The last 2 days I could barely put my spoon in my mouth my arms hurt so badly.

Your friend so needs to get into an eating routine. Because, I think otherwise she will not only hinder her efforts, but gain it back later. I am a firm believer in habits/routines help. I have always been a good breakfast eater. She needs to pull it together before she gives up and goes on a wild binge. That is what happens to me, anyway.
I have never heard of Southern Living parties. Must be a Southern thing, lol.

I can't believe only 20 days until the wedding. My how time flies!!
