Loveless

Give a thing the sense of hearing,
and you give it the love of music.

If you don't know your way, you're best taking the highway,
else you might get lost and never arrive.
But once you learn what roads are where, you take the shortcuts.

We want things to be in harmony, i.e., to be in balance.
But to balance is to be constantly in danger of tipping off one side or the other.
Thus, our usual idea of "harmony" as peace and ease is completely wrong. It's really a constant struggle to maintain perfection.

As long as there are people who are alive and not currently being tortured, starved, or raped,
there will be people who don't see any problem with leaving the world as it is.

On a related note,
If nothing is bad,
then all you have to fight for is more of what's good.

On a related note,
The problem with human beings
is that their bodies can be stuffed with food
and yet that food can still taste good.

On a related note,
Show me someone who wouldn't love having as a super-power the ability
to step outside of time
into a solitudinous, plush, conseuqence-free room
or forest
with their current lover
and then at a whim return to normal time and reality
And
I'll show you a new stage in evolution.

You wouldn't have any qualms playing everybody's favorite board game with your friends.

One day someone will invent little devices that implant in your brain and read your honest feelings on other people, your attraction and love for them, and send that information to other peoples' devices, at which point any matches in feelings light up in your brain and say, for instance, "This person is attracted to me as I am to them."
These will be discontinued when they lead to depression. And stupidity.

Little lamb, little lamb, can you your shepherd choose?
There are shepherds two.
The shepherd without lamb his woolen coat he lose.
The shepherd owns the lamb the woolen coat will own.
The shepherd without coat the wind will chill unto the bone.
The coat owned by the lamb. The shepherd and the lamb, whose is whose?
Little lamb, little lamb, can you your shepherd choose?
There are shepherds two.
