Let me start by saying, a very merry Phil Day!
And since Phil Day coincides with a lesser holiday known as Valentine's Day, I thought I would take a moment to say what I love about each of you, a kind of personalized valentine for each of my LJ friends:
banjomensch: Thank you for taking all my little contrarian comments in stride. I enjoy our LJ exchanges now and again.
childlike_fancy You already know how important you are to me. I often think of visiting you spontaneously, and sometimes you appear in my imaginings of leaving my life behind and traveling freely about the world, living an exciting life. Hopefully we will see each other again soon. You make me wish I were a better friend for you, and a better person for myself.
iceserpent I miss our chats and I wish you would post more often so I didn't feel like I'm missing everything. I guess we're not as close as we used to be, and that's too bad, but I hope the people around you are looking out for you. Always remember to take care of yourself.
lordesdawgus We don't talk very often, but I always enjoyed your colorful and comical presence.
lunacyandanchor I always enjoy reading your latest post about your life over the sea. In many ways, you're like my personal hero.
psychojon Your love of all things childlike is amusing to me. I'm glad we have stayed in touch.
stonesundial I wish we got a chance to hang out more often. You were there for some of the best times in my life, and you've always been a wonderful confidante. I feel lucky to have gotten to know you.
testing4l You seem to piss everyone else off, but you and I get along just fine. You are one of those people who is both fun to hang out with and trustworthy to confide in. I hope there are many more of those rousing drinking parties in our future.
yay_for_ennui For two people in a friendship that has been conducted almost entirely electronically, it's remarkable how close we are. I guess it just works out. I'm thankful for our late-night venting sessions, and hope we can realistically collaborate on some project in the future.
You all know I'm not the type to be unduly effusive in my appreciation. When I write these things, I mean them. Each of you is special.
And as for my sweetie, he has been the biggest part of my life for quite a while now. We've been together for 3 1/2 years--I can't believe how long it's been. He loves me, he respects me, he cares about me, he takes care of me, and he challenges me--he's everything I could want in a boyfriend. We are going to have a little Valentine's Day dinner in celebration of how lucky we are : )
