'Round These Parts

Things are falling apart a bit more literally lately. The keyboard tray on the computer desk has finally snapped again, though Amy thinks she can do something with a twist-tie again and fix it. I think it may be time for a new desk. On top of that, the monitor's flickering every now and then, so maybe I'll go grab another one. I really don't want to buy another CRT, but there's one I saw on clearance a few days ago, so maybe I'll go see if it's still there.

The keyboard's not registering all my letters lately. We have to watch closely when we type to make sure every letter appears. If there's a typo in anything I type lately, it's because of that. The problem, though, is probably not the keyboard. I think it's the computer. Almost certain that there's just problems therein. No money for another of those, though. We've got Amy's laptop now, but I want a desktop to be here. Oh, well. If I get a bonus in the summer, maybe I'll put some of it toward the computer problem.

We still want to put up the fence to divide off part of our yard. We need a way to keep Bailey in check, and that seems like the best way. Discussing it with the landlord yesterday, he said he'd put it up, and that he had some of the parts, so we'll probably just have to buy the chain link and maybe a bit more. Awesome, especially since our extra money is almost gone again.

I'm on final draft weekend again, so I'll spend a good part of tomorrow on grading. I've already graded a few, and there are some higher-than-usual grades, including my first even 100. I'm a form/technical grader more than content (in comp, you almost have to), and I've (for the first time in 4+ years) gotten the perfect paper. This is the end of my professional reputation, I just know it...Ok, maybe not. My reputation stands as the hardest grader of the college, as far as I know.

Oh, Monsters Vs. Aliens? Good stuff. Not groundbreaking, but solid and fun, especially in 3D. Zoey really liked it, too. At home right now, she's really on a Little Mermaid kick.

We've watched a few movies on dvd lately, and we have a few more. I'll try to post on that sometime soon...Gonna go shower now.
