Feddings and Annifersaries

Happy anniversary to us...It was 20 years ago today that Sgt. Pepper, oh wait...Just a few years ago (five, to be exact), I stood in front of an ex-shop class room full of people and was fake-married to my wife, Amy. We'd married several weeks earlier at the courthouse, but we held the fedding for our families and friends.

Five years ago, we hadn't moved to Chattanooga yet. I hadn't written a book. We didn't have a daughter, or a dog. Things were simpler. Not that they're bad now, they're not, but they're more complicated by far.

So, state of the union? We're still very much in love. We don't have time to see much of each other during the week, it seems, and we're both tired too much of the time, but we still love each other and want to be together. It's been a great five years (plus the several months of dating), and I look forward to several more, if she doesn't get tired of me by then. *heh*

Of course, what's an annifersary without the fact that she's at work and I'm taking care of the daughter for the next few hours? Oh, well, we'll go out as a family tonight and celebrate over dinner. And if we lean in to kiss each other, Zoey will yell "No!" and push us apart.

amy, memories
