It's been a REALLY busy last several days, what with the end of the term and such. I was feeling really put upon for a few days, worried about finances (and furious with our bank for not crediting a money order for a week), trying to grade, taking care of the daughter, and really missing my wife, who was in training all week. Not that I saw her less than usual for recent times, but it really felt that way.
Surprisingly, I won a "perfect attendance" drawing at work, and I got a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart. Hooray! I'll never complain about something extra for my work. I was also kinda interviewed (I mostly just supplied an excerpt) for work's newsletter about the new book. Speaking of which, I'm getting slightly antsy just because I don't know where it is in the process of printing. I just wrote the publisher to see how far along the process is, though I was trying hard not to do that, and he just wrote back to say it'll be quite a while yet - four books ahead of me, and other responsibilities, that'll slow it down pretty drastically. I'm disappointed but not too surprised.
Now that the term is over, I can catch up on my reading and DVR watching. I have a stack o' comics (quite a few of them from Free Comic Book Day) to get through, and lots of shows to watch as I can. I also want to write some more poetry and start the promotion process for my book this weekend. The next term starts on Tuesday, after all (there's no break between classes this week).
Oh, and the new Overstreet is out, so when I can afford to pick one up, I'll hermit myself for long enough to re-evaluate my collection's worth. Of course, I'm looking forward to that.
Amy found a house that we want to rent, as many of you know, especially if you read her blog, too. We've filled out the application and returned it, and we hope to know by Wednesday if we've got it. If we haven't heard by then, Amy's gonna call and see. Not that we have to have it, but it'd be so nice to have enough space for everything (goodbye, storage unit) AND a fenced-in yard for Zoey to play in.
Speaking of Zoey, we've got a birthday coming up. It's hard to plan what day to hold the party, because Amy's work schedule after training isn't really clear yet. Hmm...Other than that, Zoey's been a joy lately, though we're worried that she's re-catching her cold from several days ago.
