Tired Again
It's been a busy coupla days. Amy's brother, Scott, and his fam have arrived and have been keeping us busy. Well, not THAT busy. Yesterday, we just sat around and visited. Today, though, we set out for the Tennessee Aquarium, where we toured both the River and Ocean buildings (Ocean is new, and Amy and I had not seen it). Ocean was over-hyped, so of course, it wasn't that exciting after all. Fairly small sharks, some cool rays, and it was decent, but I expected more.
The whole time, I was thinking to myself about the movies where sharks attack the glass in the aquarium, then kill all the people when they break through. I watched those when I was younger, and I kept thinking, "Well, I'll never be stupid enough to go to one of THOSE places." Today, I walked around thinking the same thing sarcastically.
Zoey was difficult through most of the Ocean half, then fell asleep for the River half. Which is good (the sleeping), as Amy was about to call off our going through the river part (and rightly so).
By the time we were done, Scott & Co. went to the Imax for the shark movie, and we came home. We both discovered that we're quite tired, and our legs and feet are terribly sore, even though we don't feel like we did much. So we spent the evening quietly reading, then Amy turned in early, leaving me to putter around here and entertain myself. Maybe I'll read some more...
Tomorrow's my long day of teaching, for the first time this quarter. I hope it goes smoothly enough.
Today's teaching went well. I felt like the classes flowed nicely, and I felt professional.
Geez, I'm tireder than I thought tonight. Maybe bed is the best thing for it, but we'll see...
