Random Smallville thoughts

Reading through yall's comments on Crimson got me thinking about my general Season 6 impressions. I seem to have imposed a "you can only post once a month, Christina!" LJ rule on myself, so I figure I'm due...

And I'd spoiler cut this, but I forgot the tag command. DOH! WARNING...SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Deep Thoughts...

1) In general, I really like the direction this season is going, especially for Clark. I'm one of those people who liked Green Arrow/Ollie's presence on the show, if only because it got Clark to start thinking more globally, even if he's mainly acting locally. While I could have done with the show temporarily become The Amazing Adventures of Lois and Ollie, I liked the purpose Ollie served.

2) Speaking of Lois...I'm convinced that I would really like this character if she weren't supposed to be the great iconic woman by Superman/Clark Kent's side. She amusing and occasionally heart-tugging, but that seems to be all there is right now with her. I'm not putting myself firmly in the Chlois camp, but I guess I just like my iconic heroines a little less...the butt of jokes and without so much blatant T&A. Ya know?

3) I'll say it: I like Chimmy (or J-Chlo, per Crimson. Hee!). My little Chlarker heart won't die any time soon, but sue me...I can't be down on a guy who knew *immediately* that Chloe was all that and a bag of chips and who...like some intergalactic travellers we won't name...didn't need 8 years to figure it out. And I actually wanted to shake Chloe like a baby a little when she hesitated telling Jimmy that she *wouldn't* choose Clark over him. Because girl? Even if Clark came sniffing your way, Lana's shadow will *always* be there. Lana doesn't let go of her prey so easily. And really...even if Clark chose you, he's going to always have those "what if" feelings, and you really don't need to be playing Lex to Clark's Lana right now.

4)Which brings us to Lexana. I'm so glad Crimson happened, because up until then I really was convinced that Lana turned Lex into a simpering pussy who is so desperate for her good and pure vajayjay that he was willing to settle for being second best to Clark. Because really...what self-respecting male in their right mind would over look what Lana did in Hydro? For real! Lex Luthor being okay with his woman loving another man? I call bullshit.

And lo! I think I might be right, because I'm convinced more than ever that he's tolerating her shit right now so he can have control over whatever that thing is growing in Lana's womb...cuz we know something ain't right with that fetus, and whatever it is, it is *highly valuable* to Lex. Valuable enough to merit putting up with Lana and her wishy washyness about her feelings for Clark. I could write a NOVELLA about how much I hate this character, but I have to wash my hair...

5) 33.1 makes my geekgirl heart flutter with joy. Back when Al said it was too comicbooky of a story arc, and we all scratched our heads wondering if Alknew his show was *actually about a comic book character*, I had hoped someone in the production offices would shout loud and from on high that this was an arc worth resurrecting. It's a fantastic idea that draws *all* of the characters (save Lois) around it and really sends everyone off onto their destined paths. I was chatting with someone last night about how this arc really sets up interesting stuff for Lana...future spoilers indicate that she'll know something to tip her off onto the fact that 33.1 exists and that she has an important choice to make: keep Lex's secret about the lab and side with him, or reveal its existence to Clark and Chloe. I think she'll choose B, but A would make for a much, much more interesting path for her. Because we can't have Lana be interesting, A will never happen.

6) I despise Chloe's hair. I want the long wavy hair with NO BANGS back. That is all.
