Star Wars thoughts (Spoilers)
So, after seeing The Force Awakens last night, I've had time to gather my thoughts about it.
First I'll go with the bad.
1) JJ Abrams has to learn that you have difficulty seeing planets in the same system as you during the daytime with naught but your eyes, let alone ones in other star systems.
2) This one took me a while. I left the theater feeling unfulfilled and I couldn't figure out why. It was that the movie didn't end. It just stopped. The first thing I said afterwards was I don't want to wait two years. I wish they had ended with Rey and Chewie flying off to find Luke. That would have been a good way to end the film. For some reason the extra scene at the end kind of messed it up for me.
So, for the good.
1) Rey was awesome. Great character.
2) Loved Kylo Ren as the villain. They way they did his voice in the mask made it really creepy. Also loved it when he took off the mask and he looked normal. Wait? All bad guys aren't ugly and scarred? Totally awesome.
3) Actually loved all the big plot twists/spoilers. Ren's being Han and Leia's son? Totally cool. I knew Han was going to die as soon as he walked out on that bridge and still loved the effect.
4) Lots of action, good pacing and lots of fun.
Just wish they had ended the movie better. Feels like 1/3 of a movie than a movie that's part of a trilogy.
