Made black bean soup today. First time I've ever put enough ground peppercorn in anything to make it spicy. It was a mistake, but it is not too bad. A learning experience.

I just threw a mini-bag of Fritos in a bowl of the soup to see how it would be. Kind of strange. Not bad, though. Perhaps I will throw some rice in the rest to soak of the slightly over-present water.

Classes today went quite well. The organic teacher is quite the entertaining (if cynical) individual. He is taking a week off, though, so we do not have class again until next wednesday.

I have to pay to do physics homework? What bullshit. $25 of bullshit. And a clicker? Yeah. I'm not going to pay for that. 5/120 points? I need 100 for an A? I think I can sacrafice 5 points (in class 'clicker' points) to save a few bucks.

Programming looks like it will be easy and informative. Looking forward to it.

These Ghiradelli dark chocolate squares sitting before me are a constant reminder that I should bake brownies. Perhaps tonight I shall. All this baking is going to make me fat. And is somewhat costly. But it is nice to be able to produce nice foods now and then.

OH. And I made two key lime pies. I am making the crusts from scratch, because all of the store-bought ones are trans-fatty. Making a crust is not as bad as rumour suggests. The first one tasted quite nice, but the crust was stuck to the pie plate. I coated the pie plate with a little olive oil prior to baking the second, but have yet slice it. Hopefully it will go well, but it looks like the filling may have seeped through a little, and that could be very sticky. I tried to add meringue on the second pie. I ran out of space in the crust, so there is only a very thin layer. I was trying to mix it with a fork, and did not understand the instructions, so I'm not sure that I made it right anyway. This may require a call to mommy.
