i rode a ducati for the first time today. and not a little turdy monster, but $20k+ worth of a 996S. it was unlike anything i've ridden. i understood immediately what that kind of money gets you in a motorcycle. the acceleration was so responsive that the bike was almost out from under me before my wrist had started turning. the brakes would have had me doing rolling stoppies were it not my friend's bike. and leaned over, it was - to use a very stale metaphor - on rails. then of course theree's the sound which is almost worth the price in and of itself.

i got back on my bike and it felt like i was riding a 400 pound adipose-covered pus-filled ganglia.

jonathan will probably sell it when he leaves for grenada for med school. i might have to find a bankroll before then.
