So annoying.
I hate going to work parties. Especially when they're supposed to be for us/in our honor... but really it's just a tool the higher-ups use to lull volunteers into a fall sense of comradarie. Yep, I really want to waste my entire evening at a stupid party being all PC and pretending I like ANY of these shmucks. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
Also, rather cranky because my boss left some cases for me to call on my desk. Two of the three have insurance and - not even a week ago - when a caseworker last called them, they said that insurance was taking care of all their needs and they don't need the red cross. Why am I calling them? The third is in a very, very bad place... and we've maxed out our resources workingw it them. All we can do, if anything, is give them a phone number of another overburdened underfunded charity and say good luck.
