I am somewhat surprised I remembered my password. I haven't been here in almost a year. Weird.
What is the point of this? Hell if I know. I just happened to be clicking through bookmarks and happened upon the old el-jay and figured I would take a look. It is weird to go back and read some of the stuff that has come out of my mind the last few years. I hate to sound pompous or anything, but I feel like I have matured some since then. At least in terms feelings and attitudes. I'm sure my friends will tell you I am still the same old ridiculous Biotch...no changes there. I don't see anything wrong with that though.
I turn 21 on Friday. I am very excited about this development. Sara is coming down Thursday night, and the 'rents are coming up Saturday. There will be good times all around I am sure. I must say I am looking forward to sitting down with pops drinking a beer and watching the Final Four. Speaking of which, he and I are applying for tickets to see the Final Four in Detroit next year. Wish us luck.
Along with getting up in age, I will be graduating in a year. I will have a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from the University of Michigan. That is exciting. As much as I am scared half to death about stepping into the real world, I am anxious to see what lies ahead. I don't know what road I'll be on or where it will take me, but the destination will be worth the journey. I have had a good three years here so far. I really can't believe the next will be my last. I am going to miss this place. I had my doubts, but looking back I am confident this was the right place for me. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
I bought a guitar a little while back. I have been learning a few riffs here and there. I am convinced my fingers just weren't meant to make music though. Maybe the learning curve is just a little steeper than I thought. That, or I will just stick to the opening lines of "Wish You Were Here."
I am probably revealing more about myself here than I should, but it might as well be said. I watched Wrestlemania 24 on Sunday. There is really no way to defend that, but I will try my best. When I first tuned into the glorified soap opera that is professional wrestling waaaaay back in elementary school, a man by the name of Ric Flair was WCW champion. Being the bandwagon hopper I tended to be back then, he instantly became my favorite wrestler. As the years went on, I tuned in less and less. But whenever I got the chance to see Flair, I took it. He wrestled his last match at Wrestlemania, and I knew I couldn't miss it. The kid in me would never forgive me. It was worth it. Pro wrestling is damn sure fake, and not a real sport in the least. But watching him go was almost like watching Jordan take that last shot. Thanks for the memories Naitch. Wooooooo!
In keeping with the overall theme of this post, which is un-themeable, here is something I have been looking for a place to post for a while. It was a "desert-island albums" exercise I had to do for a class icebreaker this year. 5 CD's I would bring to a desert island...GO!
1. Led Zeppelin - Mothership. Is it cheating to take a greatest hits collection? Absolutely. Deal with it, it's my list. There is no way I could choose one Zep album over the rest, so I pick their latest collection of remastered hits. Musical genius at its finest.
2. Thursday - A City by the Light Divided. Probably not the trendy pick of a Thursday fan, but even 3 years later this one still gets better every time I listen to it. It seems like every month I have a new favorite song from this CD and that is reason enough for it to make this list.
3. Weezer - Blue Album. Weezer is good. Blue just barely beats out Pinkerton simply because Say It Ain't So trumps everything else they have done in my mind. I'm sorry El Scorcho, it's not you - it's me.
4. Angels and Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper. Barely beats out their new one, I-Empire, for this spot. Both are excellent and highly recommended. I-Empire might have the better individual songs, but this one is the definition of "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Good stuff all the way through.
5. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. I am ashamed to say that I just finally listened to this thing all the way through a few months ago. It is the newest addition to the list, and one that I now know I could not be without. It might seem cliched to have this in here, but I disagree. I think there is a damn good reason this is on everyone's list.
I just found out I am a liberal-tarian. I always thought I leaned that way, but an online quiz verified the truth behind it. So it's settled.
Since I have a marketing exam tomorrow morning I suppose I better call it a night. This was interesting though. I might be back here sometime. Or not. We shall see.
I began this post at 11:32. That's 23:32 in 24-hour time. 23:32. Have any of you seen The Number 23? Hmmm...looks like I won't be sleeping tonight.
Peace. Love. Woot.

Dear Whoever Reads This,
Please take 24.8 seconds to post a comment to let me know you exist. As much as it is cool to just throw thoughts out into the wild, it really would provide me some motivation to know that you exist. Thanks.
