I don't think it's worship so much as it may be a national symbol. If anything, the people here held a faith called "Christianity" from all I've managed to gather on it.

I guess that makes sense! So they use the symbols of cats to tell us that they were quick and smart, right? ... well maybe not since none of them are still here in the town.
