So OCC was fun this weekend, lots of people flipping and falling out of boats and such. i think i finished 6th or 7th in my division out of like 17 i think? decent, i shoulda done better, oh well. There was no party which is pretty disappointing, but we got free t-shirts, and lots of free food so i guess that makes up for it... almost. Yesterday i sailed with shorts and a t-shirt on and it was magical. The water is still in the 40's and takes ur breath away when u get splashed, but the air temerature is far too high to be wearing anything else. If we were to flip over, hypothermia would probably set in pretty quick, but that's a chance i'm willing to take. i think i may rock the shorts and a t-shirt again today, possibly without the shirt though, we'll see
So being in new york city, i've come across a plethora of different accents and tongues that some might call languages. Even at school, i hear people talking to each other in all sorts of cooky ass ways such as, but not limited to:
*turkish
*chinese
*korean
*spanish
and my personal favorite
*ebonics
Alright, so let's be honest... all these other languages are just silly, and i know for a fact that other people agree with me. for instance, when a bunch of turkish kids are together and having a conversation in turkish, some normal kids who speak english say things like "gobble gobble gobble" to imitate them. Granted this probably isn't the most professional way to go about this, and the turkish kids just moved here from turkey a few months ago, so i guess they have an excuse. But come on now, this is the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, people are always complaining about how they don't get treated the same when they can barely get out a full sentance in english that anybody can understand. You live in this country, so let's learn to speak the language or accept the fact that you're an outcast, and nobody likes you.
good talk, c ya out there
