Yes! First there will be sex (then cuddling-by-any-other-name that will never ever be mentioned again), then days of research, possibly questing and Arthur breaking a spell through sheer stubbornness, and then finally more sex as Merlin slowly remembers everything. *g*
Thanks! There are a lot of interesting ways to hurt Arthur, but somehow this one carries a surprisingly effective sting.
And I was so thrilled to see your response--the flip-side of amnesia--how someone like Arthur might be made happier by forgetting. Memory is two-edged.
Yes! Merlin does still love him--which is sort of embarrassingly in the School of Shameless Romance, but I think some part of Merlin really would. But, you know, crazy shipper talking *g*
Gee, I can't imagine how hard it'd be. I know that I'm personally addicted to the "amnesia" stories, because I guess it shows - perfectly - how much one really feels for the other, and the struggle to get their lover back is always romantic.
I love amnesia!fic, even though the premise is so stylized, I think because as you say it just captures something about loss and regaining and the rich layered quality of emotional bonds that's intensely romantic. It always reminds me of how loud a silence can be.

It's almost painful, but yes, they'll fix it.

Thank you! I suppose that's really part of what I like about amnesia.
